Anyone catch the leak posted on Reddit earlier?

Actually its not difficult at all.You just need to have an video editing software and some patience.

I just came up thinking about exporting all frames as screenshots, use an automated algorithm, basically the new AI fashion word to automatically detect areas of text with specific size, save the regions as masks and use a script to automatically blend the areas of text in a photo editing software, lastly use Windows Movie Maker to make a clip out of the screenshots.

I don`t want to support this type of things, but just thought here how programming can really make life better in someway.

Btw. I don`t understand why they don`t do anything against those leaks.

I personally liked the leaks, we could here the 747 sound before it was official and it is amazing, also a video about instant dynamic time day and weather change. Personally I`m asking who is flying worse, the leaked videos or the pilot in the official IFR video.

Here is a link to some pictures of São Paulo, Brazil! Looking good for a non photogammetry city!

Me too. There's been nothing since that rather lovely Redding strip one and that was a couple of days ago before the latest alpha - so I'm beginning to think; yes.

As the cat says though - I expect they'll be a few trying to work out how get around it.

TBH, I'm over the whole "Leaks!" thing - they weren't terribly good, and we didn't really see anything we haven't seen from officially published material which has been in much better quality. Meh! - as they say...(still don't really know what it means)

ha, I say "meh" a lot around here. I got it from my students some years ago - it's an expression that is approximately midway between "good" and "bad", though a little more towards the "bad" side. Should be said along with a dismissive shrug of the shoulders and an appropriate facial expression.

The leaked video on YouTube has not been taken down at the moment of writing this, wille it has been on for almost a day now. It's a terrible video, but it gives some insight in issues with the MFSF version it was of made with, like:

  • The Golden Gate bridge was acting weird
  • Boats seem to be glued to the water, or float over it, not in it.
  • In my eyes toy like behavior of the plane ... can such heavy plane really make such sudden movements? (Not talking about the flying behavior which is terrible, looks like he is using a keyboard to fly, but apart from that some movements look strange to me for this heavy plane, need some input from real pilots here.)
  • Several scenery pops
  • Flickering of the sun reflection in the water

This video is indeed an abomination and I am not speaking the NDA breach.

Simming since 1981 -  [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

Let's hope the guy in this video has his settings in low. Otherwise yes it's horrible 😞 The flickering and pops reminds me of FSX, surprising to have different developers and same problems appear again... I wan't slowly appearing "pops", shouldn't be hard to do with shaders and stuff, with the alpha value. I also want morphing transition between lods, there are numerous papers on the internet that explains how to do that. Please focus on that stuff MS before focusing on anything else, it's very important.

And the LOD distance is extremely low, if I have a high end graphic card like RTX 2080, I'm expecting LOD distances at least 5 times larger. Without the pops, the stuttering and the flickering.

Plus I feel like it goes from "full density" to nothing" very quickly. The level of detail needs more variety

The video has now been taken down, copyright claim by Microsoft. The Twitch VOD is still up though.

A thing to consider is that the video was allegedly captured at low/medium settings (according to the uploader, not the same user as the leaker), and that the realism settings could have been set to an easier setting. But I don't know any better.

The uploader didn't seem to know much so I would take it with a pinch of salt. He stated that it was either from the Xbox version or a mid range PC. Basically just guessing.

Still up from what I can see (or perhaps reuploaded as it says only up 8 hours)..easy search on Youtube found it. An example of very bad flying an A320 around SFO.

The stutters and popups / sudden scenery jumps remind of FSX.

What I'm most worried about though is the plane behavior. 1000 surface calculations or not, it almost looked like an RC plane sim to me, as if the decimal point went in the wrong place when they entered the mass in the parameters list.

Edit: it's still up, three different uploads even.

I think the issue with the sunlight on the water is a collision with the engine heat effect. Seems like anti-aliasing is on a very low setting (along with everything else). And I'd guess that someone is using an xbox controller.  I wonder whether there's a simplified flight model for beginners (for example an autolevelling mechanism).

With issues like ortho images of bridges appearing on water surfaces, I entirely trust ASOBO to sort these things out over time, if they haven't already.

yep, it´s a terrible video and at first glance I thought it was a fake video and taken from a mobile app or sth until I recognized the GUI to be authentic...

Second thought was that I was a bit disappointed as to why and how this guy was considered for alpha access. But then again, you never know, he might also have just done some absurd test flying on purpose to shock people....

Nevertheless, I am also a bit angry when ppl get chosen and ignore the NDA, i.e. disrepect the trust given by the developer team.

Let´s hope it was low/medium settings with an arcade flight model config and not the "real" thing.

And some parts of the scenery also looked great imo like the houses/hills after his fist "landing attempt" (if you want to call it that way - OMG).  Hopefully, I can exclude certain ppl from online mode on my side as I would not want to be on final after a 3hr flight and then have ppl crash into the airport in front of me like that...

However, it does not worry me much yet until I have the sim in my hands. Then we´ll see.

I see. I didn't check out all the comments, but he seemed quite sure that it was on low/medium settings. It's not easy to tell though, the video is too compressed.

Yes, it appears that it has been reuploaded by a couple of people. The original video (that was linked in here) says that Microsoft issued a copyright claim. I guess the new ones will be taken down soon too.

Obviously uninformed and bad flying going on in that video. Lol

Still kinda entertaining..

Interesting how steep the Airbus could turn.. shouldn't the FBW system prevent that..?

Not worried about the sim because of these kinds of videos. Still looking good to me.
