July 14, 20205 yr I'm sure we are all really hyped about everything MS2020, and I have pre-purchased the premium deluxe edition (fs has been a passion of mine for over 20 years now, so I dont see why I shouldn't indulge myself 🙂 ). I have watched many of the videos and all of the developer vlogs along the way. There is a great amount of eye candy there, but most of it is focused on the world and/or systems. What impression do you guys have when it comes to the quality of the default aircraft? I mean, the 748i seems to have a moving airport map which indicates to me that it is pretty advanced. However, seeing how many aircraft they are releasing with (40) it made me think that there are probably gonna be issues (of course, since it is a brand new product - of course there are going to be issues). Still, I wonder how the aircraft hold up to quality addons from developers we love and respect from current day sims? Andreas Stangenes http://www.youtube.com/user/krsans78 Add me on gamertag: Bullhorns78
July 14, 20205 yr I'd probably temper my expectations. I pre ordered the premium as you have, but I'm guessing a lot of the planes will be like FSX/P3D default planes. There seems to be a few pro planes that were made by a 3rd party, so they should be good. As for the rest, I'm guessing that they will look amazing, but will not match up to the fidelity of PMDG, FSLabs, et al. "I am the Master of the Fist!" -Akuma Â
July 14, 20205 yr I'm not sure any of the default aircraft will match PMDG or FSLabs for depth and fidelity - but from what we see in the Microsoft videos and screen shots the default aircraft are up there with a lot of the FSX/P3D payware models in appearance (and they look as if they have similar levels of cockpit function). The light aircraft are supposed to be almost as good as the ones we have used from payware publishers. I would be very surprised if any yet unseen default aircraft are not of similar quality. Having said that, I will always want the PMDG and QW upgrades for the Boeings (and even the CS 767) and I am sure there will be plenty of room for payware publishers of scenery to provide better airport scenery than most of the default airports not listed in today's release. I too have ordered the premium version of FS2020 and am really looking forward to obtaining it next month! The VFR scenery and lighting when flying low and slow looks absolutely fabulous - it looks as if individual buildings can be picked out even in small towns, not just major buildings in city CBDs. July 14, 20205 yr Those aircraft are in many of the Microsoft release screen shots - nothing secret about them! Nothing secret either about the quality of the scenery, weather or lighting. Just stating the blindingly obvious here ... July 14, 20205 yr you've talked about your experience in alpha and how the plane feels. You are breaking NDA. I will give you a chance to edit your post. https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.

July 14, 20205 yr Agree - even the premium package will be excellent value, in my opinion. I think this simulator will be a very pleasant surprise, no matter which package is purchased. July 14, 20205 yr Considering just the insane amount of them it's pretty safe to assume they are designed to look exaxtly like their real life counterparts giving a new flight simmer that warm and fuzzy feeling that they'd be able to fly them irl once they've found that landing gear lever and wobbled the plane on their first succesful landing. And probably not much more than that.

To everyone just think for a second, my orbx scenery is already more than double of what FS20 premium is going to costs. "But here I was, stick in hand, on a rather modest machine, in meeting room, seeing the sim at 50 fps on a 4k screen. My yaw hit the floor. And I have seen a lot of yaws hit the floor since then. This was default sim, no add-ons, and the aircraft were pretty solid and the world was alive and looked totally amazing." - Aerosoft  Ryzen 5 5600X - Noctua U12A, 32Gb Vengence, Sapphire Pulse 5700xt, WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD

Premium does not buy you anything but additional airports and additional airplanes (and bragging rights).. so not sure what you are referring to.. Edited July 14, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert

OK... understood. I just have a sense that a lot of folks will buy Premium because they expect it to have more features than Standard.. 🙃 Edited July 14, 20205 yr by Bert Pieke Bert
July 14, 20205 yr I believe they should be good enough for 90% of the potential market. Personally, I believe I will get some enjoyment out of the GA aircraft, not so much of the big and complex jets.
