July 31, 20205 yr you would need to be in the alpha to understand my comments. Something about more draw calls in the cockpit view kinda things..... https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.

The cockpit would also present a higher load on the GPU considering the high-poly environment and the extra reflections, but since I'm not in the Alpha/Beta and you're under NDA, probably best to stop here.
July 31, 20205 yr I'm pretty sure the "CPU" bottleneck actually is due to draw calls and not a cpu specific task like aerodynamics.
July 31, 20205 yr Let's just hope that it's just optimization that we are not getting in the current build or the press build that was given to YTbers and the media. BUT DF is not wrong about the CPU bottleneck and there must be a reason why they pick the C152 with an external view as a demo. Read between the lines. https://fsprocedures.com Your home for all flight simulator related checklist.
July 31, 20205 yr There are certainly optimisation issues considering the 19 FPS shot in the Ars Technica article does not show the GPU or any CPU core being maxed out. Checking the article again though, there is an interesting update that wasn't there yesterday, so maybe there is hope for more optimisation in the near future. Quote [Update, 4:10pm ET: A Microsoft spokesperson forwarded the following statement to Ars Technica: "Development is now heavily focused on making build optimizations for a variety of PC setups within our recommended specs. We anticipate additional performance improvements to be implemented as we arrive to launch on August 18 and beyond."] Edited July 31, 20205 yr by ChaoticBeauty

Can we please stop with the “You’re not in the secret alpha club, so you wouldn’t know” comments? These got old many months ago, and i’m seeing more and more of them in this sub in recent days. I did testing for EA, and MS before..the EA secret handshake was the best, it involved giving the middle finger to its customers at the end of the handshake. Embrace... August 1, 20205 yr I'll be tickled if I can run MSFS as I run P3D4.5 now: with respect for a few sliders I am always at 30fps vsync to my 30Hz screen which I find lovely, fluid smooth and have no problems w/ headaches. Yes of course I still have to be mindful to avoid the most complex aircraft in the most complex terminals w/ settings beyond what will always maintain 30fps. I feel blessedl I don't *need* 60fps vsync to a 60Hz screen to be happy and delighted to have the wonderful flight sims we have available to us. When the graphics detail bar is increased, it populates more of the scenery with buildings and trees instead of flat satellite imagery. The 32gb RAM will be beneficial in large cities. If you plan on runnings graphics settings on high or ultra i would get 32gb, RAM is cheap right now. I have maxed out on 16gb just using Google Earth VR and that is less graphically intensive than this sim, all those buildings eat up RAM. An additional 16Gb on order here as well.
