August 11, 20205 yr I bet for a lot of people not really into flight-simming already, MSFS will be like one of those zen-games. You pick it up for a little bit, calm down and then go play FN or some FPS game. For others it will probably bring them in to flightsimming for the first time, and I'm so happy for them that this is the first flight simulator they get. It will be interesting to see how they react. Will they "nitpick" or ignore the obvious flaws and praise the greater goal that was achieved with MSFS? August 11, 20205 yr Commercial Member Regarding progress at Intel, they are looking for external foundry for manufacture of future designs since their 7nm process is a year behind schedule and profit on foundry is getting more complicated node for node. Intel still hold the lead on intellectual property and their designs might well be manufactured elsewhere putting competitors on the back foot with less advanced designs on the same process. Yes, and that's TSMC who are trembling under 7nm and 5nm demand because they have to handle all of AMD's current and future products, HPC Ampere, both of the new consoles, smartphone SoCs by Apple, HiSilicon, Qualcomm, MediaTek and more. With Samsung and GlobalFoundries out of the game, it is doubtful they will be able to secure enough capacity to manufacture a decent amount of their products, for the same reason gaming Ampere is stuck with Samsung 10nm. Their foundry needs to get back on their feet for Intel to become competitive again.

August 11, 20205 yr For what it's worth, this video is generating quite a bit of discussion on the Beta forum. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
August 11, 20205 yr This is definitely a very good video, I feel like it's very well balanced and not just click-bait. In saying that, I wish I never watched it 😅 You definitely can't un-see what's been described, and I sure as heck wouldn't have noticed most of this stuff otherwise! August 11, 20205 yr Excellent video and analysis, I agree with all of it. I also agree with him on one other thing: I'm still super excited to fly in MFS even despite all of these issues!!!! 😁

Exactly the reason I haven't watched it, but my morbid curiosity has me coming to the last page of comments to see what, if any, consensus is on the video. You just confirmed the decision, thank you! It reminds me of content on motorcycle forums... my current bike has been running fantastic ever since I stopped reading what complaints anyone may have about it. 🙂 Edited August 11, 20205 yr by Stoopy stray apostrophe "That's what" - She

I find my enjoyment of flight simming is inversely proportional to the time I spend on forums. In other words, the longer I'm away from forums the better the flight sim becomes. I think it still has overdone AO in most videos I've seen. It's the slight shadowing on top of the wing root even under direct sun light that is the worst aspect of it. Hopefully it looks better if turned down a notch or two.
