Don’t you guys think there will be some surprise content on launch day? It seams to me that their strategy so far was to give new features in little increments with each new update while still holding something left to give. Making sure to give just enough to keep us wanting more. My own predictions would be the promised TTS capabilities in the ATC, and the last 40 of the promised 80 hi-def airports. What are yours?

Bears. And lots of them.

Based on the preview build they should have their hands full with just the bug fixes.

I guess we will just get the ever repeating new game release cycle:

Before release: Positive overreaction, the hype train

After release: Negative overreaction(a direct result of step 1)

A year after release: Balanced and objective reaction

Even games that are now praised got trashed after release: Fallout 4, Elite Dangerous, Civ 5 and FSX all got trashed after release.

Pigs, flying pigs.

And maybe Pink Elephants (from eating all those flamingoes that disappeared).

Seriously, I'll be surprised if I can get it downloaded on day 0 🙂

 

 

I really think they are focusing on bug fixes. The 40 other airports will come at a later date. 

With any luck we might get some improvements to ATC but thats a stretch. Im still not sure now much they plan to leave in the hands of our 3rd party folks.

I am really excited to see if they have any surprises for us TODAY in the live stream over at twitch at 1730 CET. I am kinda expecting them to give us a little surprise. Barring things like bugfixes and tuning of existing features (like the ATC system etc), here are some of my thoughts on what the surprise for launch could be:

• A replay system
• More airports
• Free DLC in the marketplace, or a discount - to all or to customers who pre-purchased
• We will be able to pre-download from monday at 00.00 (night to monday, local time)
• A new exciting partner for some interesting new feature
  • An ingame voice communication that will be compatible with Vatsim and IVAO
• Seasons
• More VR compatability
• One little bugfix that I think they will mention because it's got so much attention: tree height 🙂

In the game files, there's a folder "Replay" with replay related icons. So it's very likely we'll get one... one day.  

i think we'll see many posts on this forum with download/ installation/ activation issues on release day .... surprise?

Stuttgart Airport would be nice on release.

I mean, I'd consider the 787 a surprise 🎉 Ya we know it's coming on Tuesday with the Premium Ultra Sumptuous Deluxe Gold version, along with other aircraft and more airports. But we haven't seen or heard anything about it from testers or Microsoft themselves other than a 2 second clip and a screenshot! It'll basically be a surprise!!

I'm hoping for perfect ATC voices, as real as it gets, with accents and all! 😜
