And thats the sad thing. Accepting to buy a product thats not finished or polished up and expect not to be in whatever it might take. Months? Years? Maybe forever? But people keep saying "Its a sim. Sims are never finished, never perfect."

Nobody would accept that when buying a new CPU or Monitor. Hey...its a Computer. They never work like you expect them to!

Oh you bought a 144Hz Monitor? It only shows 120Hz yet but may be showing 144Mz in the near future. Lets see!

Your examples are terrible, as you're comparing software to hardware, to vastly different playing fields in terms of realistic expectations, predictability and complexity.

From my perspective as a consumer and someone who pays money for either hard or software it's the same.

Then you're naive consumer, unfortunately.

I have a lot of problems with MSFS, and yes it's far from perfect. But the value you get out of the box is way more than any other sim can offer without spending $$$$$ on 3rd part add ons. Since ASOBO pledged to continue support, I wouldn't worry about bugs and shortcoming at release date. So embrace the  dark side! 🙂

Of course they’re the same. I just downloaded the newest Nvidia GTX 3500 TI X2 from their website last week! It even installed itself!

And did you pay for it?

In addition to what I wrote above, I should add I have done my share of Zendesk and Alpha Forum issue/error reports. Some were already amended in the alpha, some hopefully will be in the release version and some may be left for the future, but I think thats the way to proceed and for all to benefit.

Kind regards, Michael

I did. I paid for the new hardware I downloaded straight from the Nvidia website, because that’s how hardware works. Like software!

This is getting ridiculus

I saw the video and it looks fine. A couple of bugs here and there. I dont see anything to worry about and most will probably be fixed in the next month or two. Yawn. Going back into hibernation until the 18th.

I'd actually rather wait. I ended simming a few years ago because i had no interest in tweaking and fiddling anymore and i have absolutely no ambitions to carry on the same ol' song when MSFS is out.

If you are waiting for MFS to be bug free, tweak free and perfect for you "out of the box" before purchasing, I suspect you are going to be waiting a loooooong time.  During those years you are waiting, I intend to fiddle a bit, tweak a bit, perhaps purchase some 3rd party content and most of all - I will be having a blast flying the sim (especially when VR is enabled).

As much as you wish Microsoft would push back the release (to 2022?)  I would have been more than happy to pay and have full access to the sim even at the Alpha level.  I would feel differently if I thought Microsoft was some fly by night company that would happily take my money and then never support/update the product.

Anyway, I am curious what brings you to this forum?  You are clearly out of simming by your own admission.  Were you somehow expecting the new MFS to eliminate all of your past frustrations of having to fiddle with sims to make them work to your liking?  I am sorry to say "tweaking and fiddling" is pretty much mandatory in the flight sim world.  It has been that way at least since the FS98 days...

An unrelenting hype campaign every single week for over a year telling us this will be "truly spectacular"  "ground breaking"  and "you won't need any addons" then, a week before release it is suggested that we be sure to "adjust our expectations."

We are told not to worry because there is a very good chance that "some day" the basic flight model may actually work.  It is amazing to me that some people are absolutely OK with this.

It just confirms what I have suspected for years-- that some of us are interested in flight simulation but some others are primarily interested in an endless cycle of anticipation.

"Sure this isn't very good", they say, "but think about (and speculate about and offer baseless opinions about) what may be coming later".  This seems to be the real hobby of so many.

I'm not complaining about the game...maybe read my OP again?

You've complained about certain aspects of the software through out this thread. Either way....you don't have to use the new sim. So don't. Stick with what you have and stop complaining lol. Pretty simple.

FAA: ATP-ME, 737 CA, enough time in the 757/767 to be dangerous 🤠
