TropicalSim released KABQ.

Featured Replies

How long have users been waiting for a good KABQ and TS finally finished theirs. Even with 2020 about to release, I still plan on flying on P3D. The price is not bad.

It’s great but almost ironic. Been waiting  a long time. I’m not sure yet I’ll get this. My personal opinion is that if somebody is releasing something this late they need to offer a bridge deal with some defined cost upgrade for msfs

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

Glad that TS are alive.

13600KF - AIO - 32GB DDR4 - RTX4070 - UW1440p GSync - USB DAC - 2TB NVMe - Windows 11 Pro - Gladiator NXT EVO - 1 Gbps Fiber  - MSFS 2024

This seems like a rush to get it out the door a couple days before MSFS is released. I'll pass. Even a discount of say 50% if we buy the P3D version once the MSFS version is out would have promted me to buy. But this close....nah.

Thanks for posting. I'm too planning to continue flying P3D for now.

Ed. I do too. Mainly because of payware aircraft availability. But will only fly there a nominal amount of times before moving to next sim. So no path no buy for me.

Well, well, the wonders never cease.  I had this one written off as being deader than Jimmy Hoffa.  This patches my biggest gap in US scenery coverage.

I too have been waiting "ions" for this to get released as we provided a free version of Albuquerque, New Mexico.  40 square miles of photoreal terrain of the city and the surrounding area from the airport.  Would make for some scenic landings and takeoffs.  I will definately have to try this out.  Congrats Tropicalsim!

Intel i9-12900KF, Asus Prime Z690-A MB, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, (3) SK hynix M.2 SSD (2TB ea.), 16TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte GeForce 5080 RTX, Corsair iCUE H70i AIO Liquid Cooler, UHD/Blu-ray Player/Burner (still have lots of CDs, DVDs!)  Windows 10, (hold off for now on Win11),  EVGA 1300W PSU

Full array of Bravo, Saitek and GoFlight hardware for the cockpit. Varjo and HP VR headsets for mixed reality.

Hi Simmers 🙂

Carlos Pereira, from TropicalSim here.

In order to clear some doubts about our KABQ / Albuquerque scenery:

- We started working on KABQ by February 2017, by June 17 we released our first preview. This is one of the biggest and more detailed airports we have ever launched, so we've done it without any rush, working on it for more than 3 years, and having to stop it's development many times to work on our other releases and updates of less complex sceneries. No hurry to release KABQ at all.

- Some months ago we decided to make KABQ a fully dedicated Prepar3d V5 airport, V4 compatible, and this is the way we've finished the scenery. We are working on KABQ for FSX and planning to release it this week, then, after it's release, we will start working on a FS2020 version for Albuquerque.

- Our clients/users are used to our sales policies. We know that some developers release 2 stand alone versions of their products, one for FSX and the other for Prepar3d, but we have allways decided to offer both FSX and Prepar3d versions together in one pack.  Whoever order one of our sceneries receives both versions in just one pack. No extra charges for that! This is the way we do business, because we believe that this is better for our users.

- That said, if someone orders our new Prepar3d KABQ, he/she will be granted the right to receive a FSX KABQ copy for free, as soon as it becomes available. The fact that KABQ was released as an exclusive Prepar3d product does not mean that an user will have to order another version for FSX or FS2020.

- When we deal with sceneries like our recent released Ezeiza, Faro, The Azores and Tirana, for example, that were completely new built versions of older ones, that was previously not even Prepar3d compatible, we offer great conditions. Any customer of a previous version of that airport can purchase the new version with a small upgrade fee, usually less than 50% of the full retail price. A customer who does not have that airport will pay the normal retail price. Both customers, those who upgraded their previous version, and users who have only just purchased the airport for the first time will have access to individual installers for FSX, FSX:SE, P3Dv4, P3Dv5 and in the very near future FS2020 too, all available to download on the same purchase, in fact, they will be using the very same serial number to install for all platforms

- FS2020 release date has no relation with Prepar3d V5 KABQ release. We've just finished and released a 3 years working project, simple as that. Even more knowing that our Prepar3d KABQ users will receive their free FSX KABQ, and FS2020 versions when available. There is no trap here. Never had. We don't act like this, our users know it.

Hope I have clarified any doubts about it.

Glad to be here among you guys again. Have nice flights!

My best wishes,

Carlos Pereira.

Great information.

Far too many here are too quick to write Prepar3d off and/or indulge in conspiracy theories regarding developers motivations!

Thank you Carlos for taking the time to post. Your business model has always been very generous and we certainly appreciate that. Also your product quality has grown by leaps and bounds over the years and I always look forward to your next airport. Glad to hear that will continue into the new sim. KABQ fills a void in the USA coverage and I will be a buyer. KGEG? 🙂

Thank you Carlos for the information. Look forwards to my first landing there from Tucson!

If it were $10 I'd go ahead and buy it since I plan on waiting about 6 months before getting MSFS.

Too bad it released so late.  Been wanting a good KABQ for years.
