I will absolutely stick to it, just as I do now.

And for the same reason Asobo likely locked away the sims core.

So all that lovely middle-ware wont be slowing the sim to a crawl over time.

Planes? Yes.

Airports? Yes.

Yes, but he does not say what the program is that displays this.  It is not part of the MSFS beta package.  I too would like to know what it is.

The RTX 2070 is slightly faster in most situations, with the difference being more pronounced at higher resolutions. The newer RTX 2070 Super trades blows with the GTX 1080 Ti.

Really? Of the several benchmarks I saw, the 2070S and the 1080ti were pretty well matched and traded for the lead depending on the game. I'd give a slight edge to the 1080ti.

An interesting video. Thought I'd bring attention to the fact that the Devmode replay function appears to work quite well. Unless this guy is flying while looking completely the wrong way. Maybe Devmode will be part of the day 1 SDK, maybe as an SDK update, maybe not at all.

Almost from the beginning - MS have inferred that  the new sim is designed for the new X Box. and an introduction to a new Market of Gamers 

Call it speculation if you like - but there is almost 4 months between the release of The Sim for the PC - the release of the X box series X

Could Asobo have been running a parallel exercise - to bring out the revised sim with DX 12 ultimate  included for the X box - and releasing an update

for the PC around the same time - because after all they are gaming specialists who must have some system of Beta checking that we are not aware of

in the PC arena

In the very first development update it was made clear that the game was being developed for the PC, to be ported to Xbox later. If it were the opposite, they'd be aiming to release it along with the Xbox Series X as a launch title, and port it to PC later. As of now they don't have anything to say about the console version, which means it's probably quite far yet.

I'm waiting for the 3000 cards before planning my MSFS build, but Im rather nervous thinking about the price. Will they be under $2000? 🤣  I might have to settle for a used 2080ti or something.

This is a good presentation on what to expect. 
I am curious what the franerate would have been with an overcast and rain..

I like to go to the most heavy scenery  situation with bad weather and if I can config the settings for a smooth experience then I do not have to look at it again...
