August 19, 20205 yr Anybody flown over the sea side town? Just did. Disappointing to say the least. No tower, no piers, huge hotel like structure where the cenotaph should be. I thought this would be better than the True Earth series. Not even close.
August 19, 20205 yr Welcome to AVSIM, step! I believe that this is where the third party developers will come into the fray: Updating towns such as Blackpool. I don't recall default FSX ever having Blackpool tower either.. Incidentally, how's Walney Island in the new sim? Have you flown across Morecambe Bay yet? August 19, 20205 yr Went there a couple of weeks ago for real, does that count? Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Nothing in the media ever implied that kind of detail would exist outside of major cities and photogrammetry cities. Edited August 19, 20205 yr by Tuskin38

Maybe POIs for certain areas but they run a huge risk investing lots of cash into a product only to have Bing drop photogrammetry of the area into their maps
August 19, 20205 yr What's the whole point of FS2020 when the entire ORBX loop is required again? You're kidding me. - Currently giving X-Plane 12.10 a spin on Shadow PC. 10 years with X-Plane now, since 10.20

I've just flown the C172 to some outback town in Central Florida where a mate of mine lives and all the stores around there were perfect, not ai stores, but the actual ones with the logos and colour schemes and buildings absolutely perfect yet there's no Blackpool Tower or pier? I don't understand how that could be but I guess there's a logical explanation for it.

From POI, churches, powerlines, hazard obstacles. In some cases the underlying vector data to draw on the rivers is abysmal, as is the mesh. And since they have all these in their existing regional packs it would be a no brainer to simply export them, touch them up with new models if necesarry and then sell it for for 10 to 20 bucks.
