August 20, 20205 yr It's good, but P3D v5 stays until there are DC-3s, SE5as, Spitfires, Mustangs, Comets, B17s, etc in the new sim. And that's not going to happen overnight. Not even in a couple of years. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
August 20, 20205 yr I never got into P3D much, I did buy version 4 I think it was (or maybe I had v3, cannot recall now). I went from FSX to kind of skipping P3D to Xplane 11 and now to this. I think Xplane 11 had the best engine besides this, it's just it didn't have all the great payware planes that FSX/P3D did. AMD 5800x | Nvidia 3080 (12gb) | 64gb ram

Same here, but I fear the more I fly MSFS the more painful it will to look out of any windows, let alone the stunning undulating runways, flat airports are going to feel very "old". Traffic on the roads...O the list goes on and on. But I will/need to fly my FSL/PMDG's so P3D v5 will say for some time. David Murden. But for the average Avsim user, MSFS is missing a lot of the things that make simming great - beautiful true-to-life addon airports, complex airliners with full systems, ATC addons that are at least semi-realistic, A2A planes, the Zibo 737 - the list goes on. Specific to P3D v5, you have really nice new water and (beta) atmospherics, and much better performance than MSFS. Plus VR. No need to be hasty, in fact given how cheap disk space is there's no need ever to throw away your carefully-modded sims. Run 2 sims, runs 3 sims, run them all - there's no need to stick to just one! Currently flying: MSFS: PMDG 737-700, Fenix A320, Leonardo MD-82, MIlviz C310, Flysimware C414AW, DC Concorde, Carenado C337. Prepar3d v5: PMDG 737/747/777. At the moment I don't feel like playing anything else, but that's quite normal when you have a new toy. XP12 will have to provide something truly innovative to make me even consider it. Right along with you. Happily have XP11 and MSFS2020 installed I find I prefer X-Plane more for how airliners are handled overall and I have some payware craft I enjoy but for GA and bush flying I am liking MSFS a lot. Nothing else has hit me the way MSFS in terms of flying around an area and seeing exactly what I expect to find. There are some glitches to be sure (textures under the water at docks and bridges for sure) but honestly given the scale of the sim I feel these will (hopefully) be addressed in the future and do not take the overall enjoyment for me from the sim.

I took a LONG break from AVSIM for this EXACT type of attitude around here.. I just started posting again today after noticing AVSIM finally put their foot down and addressing it.. It's nice to see and I just wanted to comment to show that setting some standards of user etiquette is regaining you some users.. Kudos.. Someone gets it. 🙂 I'm not deleting P3Dv4. I still haven't deleted P3Dv2 although I haven't booted it even once since getting v4. There are things in v2 that I still need for reference, and v4 will be the same way at some point. I wish I still had my old installation of FSX but that was on an older computer that I can't access any more... FSX had a LOT of stuff I need for reference. Like custom airports I made. Of course, flying in v4 is pretty painful these days... 🙂 Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
