i allready installed the fixes, but wondering if we see official fixes on the next update (27.8) we maybe need to uninstall the mods again to avoid scenery probs.

Whilst i'm in awe of how these people do this and get these things out so quickly, i'm gonna hang back a few weeks and see what the initial few updates hold. I can always come back and install these if they are overloooked.

Yeah, worst case scenario, simply delete the folder out of the community folder. Really nice that its so easy to do.

X-Plane innovations.

That’s great; I read somewhere that MSFS’s mesh format made it difficult to import or modify meshes. Seems the clever clogses of the internet worked out how. Very impressed how quickly people are moving.

This is more than certain for the following months.. Just keep everything that you modify, i personally keep a simple log of what i am doing cause this trip is just beginning ....

At this point I will hold out for an official fix to this. I'm not ready to mess with terrain files and make a mess of things when the official data is corrected or update with more accurate models.

We need global fixes and higher mesh resolution above all.

Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

No need to mess with anything, you simply drag and drop a folder. Don't like it? Simply remove the folder. No harm done. No files messed with.

I know, but I would have to remember that they are there in case the default files change and cause new issues.

I think the freeware scene for MSFS is going to be massive, much more like XP11 than P3D. This is a good start.

Can someone explain how MSFS handles the Community folder? Since you can just drop anything (airports, liveries, mesh fixes, 3d objects...) in there there must be some way MSFS filters through this.

Does it scan the folder everytime you start the sim and generates a "register" of addon class and location? Then it injects it into the sim whenever it is needed?

It would be nice to get a notification it had been loaded also.

Agreed on higher mesh resolution needed. However, if it's a similar project to what we have as freeware High Definition and Ultra High Definition terrain mesh in X-Plane, someone will need to host some very large files for download, and there won't be total worldwide coverage due to data availability.

It may also require more RAM than minimum system specs, which may be why higher res mesh worldwide it isn't in the default MSFS install.
