Wow, Graham, your story is similar to mine. I have 35 hours in the PA28 from 1975. Ran out of money before I got my license and never was able to get back to it. I've been simming since 1982, but MSFS is the first sim that actually comes close to replicating the feelings I remember. Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

PS I took my training at KHVN, if you want to fly a few patterns there. I'm going to visit Fairoaks later...

What a joy to read. This is one of the things a flight sim should be doing. That is to say, making someone feel good. If i was one of the developers, this one post would make it all worth while .Nice one!

Yes, a wonderful, refreshing post.

My (late) wife did her best to tolerate the hours I spent flying on FSX.  But she would occasionally come into the den for something, look at my screen, shake her head slowly in bewilderment, and then go about doing her thing...

Hey Graham

Great post, it made my day to read it. Enjoy!

Have a great weekend

David.

Brilliant story and what a great suprise from your wife. I do agree that FS2020 is great escapism. Think some of the 'simmers' on here have missed the real point of this amazing software.

This was really great to hear! Thank you for sharing and enjoy your flights. Hope to see you in the skys someday.

Loved to read your story! I am quite a few years younger, but I also love how I can enjoy FS2020 without any addons and numerous hours of tweaking. I remember back with FS2004 and FSX I spent a lot more time tweaking the sim than actually flying. At the moment I am as happy as I can be flying VFR with some occasional VOR navigation and ILS landings.

I am also a big fan of Squirrel's YouTube tutorials. They helped me a lot getting back into the sim after a 15 year break.
