Don't forget the flight-simmer's best friend (especially if you use P3D and want to sort out your add-ons), good old Lorby, maker of many fantastic and helpful utilities, plus a number of cool mission simulator add-ons, quite a few of which are free. Lorby already has a controller assignment utility add-on available for MSFS - AxisandOhs - it's on sale at simmarket and a free demo of it is available too to see if you can make use of it.

Expect Carenado to hammer the market with GA aeroplanes once they've sussed out the SDK properly. Their current Cessna 182T for MSFS is quite nice, and they will, regardless of what transpires, always have the feather in their cap of being the first developer to get a TPD add-on out for sale and in the built-in MS store.

Carenado has already released their Cessna CT182T for MSFS and have an announced plans for the Mooney Ovation M20R as well.

John C.

Yes, this is true. Carenado is hard at work building a MSFS version of their FSX/P3D edition of the M20R Mooney, a 280 hp four-seat, high speed, retractable that will be loaded with high end Avionics configured for single pilot IFR and VFR.  Round gauges for all to enjoy.

Evidently, the team exposed multiple limitations using the MS/Asobo SDK and are continuing to find additional stumbling blocks.  I hear the SDK is being updated for the needed fixes, but, the Mooney release will have to wait for the MSFS required patches or fixes for the general public to enjoy this new add on.  <all totally unofficial>

Personally I'll be happy to see Carenado's Beech D-18S

Totally agree.  This is exactly what is needed to balance out the aircraft currently available for MSFS.

It's like an entire class of aircraft have been neglected in favor of the flood of carbon fiber- G1000 school of thought.

How about some variety.

We have to be wary with what we buy. I'm amazed, given the coding language MSFS2020 uses, that so many long-standing and great companies are pushing mediocre products to market. I had thought those days behind us.

To be fair, if you have a bash at stuff, you'll find that the SDK is rather lacking in several areas and could certainly be clearer in many respects. This is not helping matters, so you can expect some of the first efforts from developers will be affected by this. You can get stuff done, but there's still a bit of stumbling along.

I am no pro developer by any stretch of the imagination, but I can get stuff done, however, I can confirm the SDK is not the best. It's a learning curve for everyone:

I totally agree with you. Although I purchased Carenado's D-18S for the eye-candy modeling (because if there is anything Carenado does really well, it's eye-candy), including the interior, I already had Milton Shupe's wonderful freeware version for FSX in the hangar. Actually though, for me, Milton's is a more enjoyable flight experience. But yes, the D-18S is a wonderful bird, and both versions, Milton's and Carenado's, are great fun to fly and both would be great additions to the MFS '20 experience.

Another vote for the Carenado D-18 (or similar ) to be brought across.

Cruising along in a vintage aeroplane on a summer’s evening with twin burbling piston engines , that would be sublime in this scenery rich sim.

I’m sure highly developed, specialised Stuff for the new sim will be on the way , and it can’t come soon enough.

In the meantime things like orbx’ s port over airports at a reduced price are great.

One of the few apps that I recommend for this "modern era" is this: Self Loading Cargo.

Not to derail, but can you minimize the SLC GUI?

Thanks!

Sincerely I can´t remember if we can minimize, because, I always drag the "menu" to almost off screen. Also if you scroll the mouse in a certain part, it will "shrink".  5 stars.

It comes with pre recorded sounds, but you could add your own "cabin musics" etc etc. Just replace the mp3. Very user friendly.

Just search on youtube by "emirates boarding music" for example. Do this for all the sounds you want.

Finally, you can adjust the volume of all the elements! I mean all! Volume from the passengers, music, crew, pilot, co pilot etc
