Seriously Frustrated

Seems to be related to nvidia cards. There was official response from a MS dev over in the official forums. Everyone with the issue was using nvidia cards.

That is like saying:  "Whiskey and water makes me drunk, Gin and water makes me drunk, Rum and water makes me drunk.. seems to be related to water". 🙂

I find that an extraordinary claim, but I don't entirely dismiss it. It does seem very far fetched. How can a graphics driver interfere with a core avionics or autopilot function other than graphical error? It seems implausible.

That's like not using the #2 engine just because you don't really need it to fly.

agreed that auto pilot is necessary for realism.....but I still think there's lots of fun to be had without the auto pilot and until the bugs are fixed

Kind regards,

as for the heading disable anything that has a toggle assigned to your yoke for example lights, battery, mags ect...

Honeycomb yoke. Last night, as he stated,  I unbound all of the switches on the main housing of the yoke.  Alternator, Battery, both Avionics switches, and all (5) light switches.  Forgot to check the start switch.  Today I flew and the HDG and CRS tuning stayed at 1° increments.

agreed.  If the devs end up going down rabbit trails without addressing the more probable culprit (the software), I can foresee problems with building repport with us, the customers

So, remove 50% of the yokes functionality?

Only for now, until there is a fix.  And the functionality I lost, just the switches on the main body of the yoke, is easily available in the cockpits with the mouse.  Talking about Alternator, Battery, Avionics switches, and the (5) light switches.  I had been using the mouse for those cockpit switches anyway most of the time as it seems more intuitive to me.  And once on in flight prep and runoff, the only two I would use in flight would be turn off the taxi lights and later turn on the landing lights.

No big fuss for me.

Oh, and in FSX SE with the two Milviz GA aircraft I fly the switches do not operate the landing lights, and three of the other switches are funky.  Cycle twice to turn on.  Cycle one more time to turn off.  That is due to Milviz coding.

interesting, I have a 5700XT no problems really.

Ryzen 5 5600X - Noctua U12A, 32Gb Vengence, Sapphire Pulse 5700xt, WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD

I spent a few flights wondering why my “stupid” autopilot kept on failing to hold altitude and was trying to kill me.  Then I realized the button on my yoke that was bound to change between internal and external views was also bound to autopilot disconnect in the Brunner software that runs the yoke.  So basically every time I changed views I inadvertently turned off the autopilot.

Turns out some(one) was stupid, but it wasn’t my autopilot!

I just don't understand this, I had this issue for some time then it vanished same with the avionics power loss, some strange things going on with the Sim

I for one, very happy with performance after patch, cant complaint , yes there are a few bugs but nothing that would stop me from flying and enjoying the scenery.

Strange is an understatement. It’s like a massive scenery simulator with an invasion of toy airplanes filled with bugs. I seriously wonder how long it will take them to sort it all. If what people are saying that these have been ongoing since the alpha, and falling on deaf ears, I’m worried. Hopefully they manage to claw this situation back and work forward.

I call gibberish on that. Mine is running like a top. It's a 1080, and what I've heard is that 2XXX cards are the ones having problems. No idea if it's true or not, but if they're making a blanket statement that it's nvidia cards, yeah, naw, yeah, isn't true.

I agree with the OP - sometimes things work, sometimes not.  I've found FLC to be one of the worst offenders of all AP modes.  VS is the way to go for now in most of the aircraft.
