Part of the problem is that bots are buying up the allocated items and reselling them for double the price on EBAY.

I shared a YouTube video by Moore's Law Is Dead a little while back where he predicted supply at launch would be very scarce and that that the 3090 wasn't what Nvidia was hyping it up to be (nor the 2080 for that matter). I was told not to believe him. Turns out he was 100% correct.

So the BIG ? is when does a 3080 with more RAM drop?

Nvidia are sneaky and deliberately did this, so that if you have an 1080 or 2080 Ti with 11GB you will be 'forced' to get the 20GB to avoid a VRAM downgrade.   It's all games.....  But I am patient and will wait including to see what AMD brings to the table.

My negative response is that AMD GPUs will never be FS2020 friendly.  It has never happened before for various reason that I don't want to think about.

Same here, then finally said out of stock. I’m going to see how this whole 30 series plays out a bit.

The source for the tight supply was TweakTown, which was reproduced everywhere. So far, everything that this channel presented as his own information was completely wrong, and he has deleted many of his older videos. I'm not saying everything that he posts is wrong, but there are much more reliable outlets.

I had three in my cart at different times. Never let me proceed to select shipping just said. “ Not available for pickup or shipping.” At Best Buy. I was so annoyed. Still am. 
 

I run a 4K 50” TV for a monitor. My hope was to upgrade to a 3090 that will run MSFS with much better performance. Granted my 1080ti. Does a good job. 
 

But the low VRAM on the 3080 scares me for P3Dv5 and XPlane Vulkan. 
 

So I now find my self deciding what my next move will be. Continue with the 3090 specially for VR, or see if a larger VRAM card will show.

RTX 3070 16GB, RTX 3080 20GB and GA102 12GB are all coming.

This whole NVIDIA Launch is very frustrating so far. They really need to figure out how to deal with these bots. This is totally unfair for those of us who actually need the card. I really wish those scalpers the worst. Total scums.

Ah sorry I meant returning item back to the dealer. Ebay selling is another topic, but the release date of the consoles might get entertaining, people waiting and perhaps smashing each other. 

 

One thing about the 3090 (on-topic), the 10 to 15% increase are perhaps laughable, but on the other hand, the card is officially for 8K intended, the VRAM gets eaten up by the resolution.

 

Nvidia earned last year 10 times more money than they did before 10 years. This is crazy if you think how the prices of gfx cards have increased. 8K is another way of milking money, they do this pretty good.

Of course if big navi hits and turns out vastly better for non RT work the scalpers might get burnt.

Well whatever it takes, those scalpers definitely deserve it. I have no sympathy for any of them. They ruin it for legitimate buyers.

The 3080 seems like a bargain. Cant wait till its back in stock.
