After DX-12 has been implemented, I think the upcoming RTX 3080 20GB will be more than enough to run MSFS in Ultra 4K.

EVGA claim the 6 POSCAP version were preproduction models that only ever went to reviewers and the line production models that actually made it out to consumers were revised models with the ceramic caps:

Probably, but, everyone keeps going on about this 20gb version. I am going to hedge a bet that it doesn’t cost much less than the 3090 when it’s released. I’ll betting it’ll be over £1000

Tt'll be at least a couple of months before they are on the market, I'd expect, perhaps even an early spring 2021 launch. A nice upgrade for those with 2080's, but for those who have been holding on to their old GPU's while waiting for this GPU series it'll be a long couple of months.

Difficult choice, go with the 3080 now and hope that 10GB vram is enough, spend double that on a card with plenty vram but only slightly more power or wait for the 3080-20Gb that might be only slightly cheaper than the 3090.

Interesting....and before I read that, this morning..

I have been on the phone for 40 mins with my New PC builders.

Because there PC build ( first to come ) 3080 are gigabyte cards. 

To cut a long story short they said, it sounds like "preproduction builds" also with the system being OC the two things they stress test the most and longest are the CPU and GPU. He said if this is the case it will fail our tests and you will not get your PC. We will never send out a PC without going thought and passing all our tests and there test are to find out if the OC fail and GPU and RAM fail. 

On top of that it comes with a 3 year warranty so, we will wait and see and you guys will be the first to know if it really is a problem.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Which makes the 3090 more appealing because it will still have more Vram. / and still be 10-15% faster, which as we know in flights sims every frame counts.

Triples with 4K is not an option as things stands today.

I disagree. 30-40 fps is good. I reckon with 4k at high settings it would be 30 fps then, fine for flying airlines.

MSFS 2020 in 8K. I assume he's running in ultra, so putting it down to high will give antra 10-15 fps.

Howeverver by al accounts it is not getting more cores or higher clocks just more ram and the punters are predicting about a $100 US premium for it.
