September 26, 20205 yr Firstly a little bit of background. UK2000/Gray's work was falling below other developers work. It was getting very off putting. I wanted Bristol for P3D v5 and went for "orbx" version it was the first time I load up a "orbx" airport and thought..."are you kidding me" the weathering textures on the main building looked like a stencil right out of photoshop, crud and terrible looking. Really poor on so many levels. Then I saw it was it really was not made by them. Never will I buy from that developer again. But the last Ireland airport I bought from UK2000 was poor also. !!!! So now in MSFS UK2000 Bristol, £26, really! and my fear factor of how it would look = NO, well now it's £18...ok. Better but still should be £15. So I took a deep breath and bough it. Wow, what a great job, everything looks great, really great, You have two option to download, one with no static aircraft and the other with full static airliners and GA. I went for the full fat version. So many static GA's 100's of static cars ( need turning off inP3D) and a good amount of airliners. Great FPS. Very happy with it. more than happy, bring on the next release Gary. Great job Gary and now I have the confidence to buy more MSFS airport from you and hopefully the word will spread and you sell loads. Good work, so credit where credit is due. That is kinda crazy... the airport and scenery SDK is in one of the best states... okay okay theres things missing, but ORBX, FSDT, UK2000, Aerosoft and lots of talented amateurs seem to be doing fine with the SDK even in it's current state. Even I have been able to change a few local airports to me to have their ILS approaches added and a tower added with a few parking spaces and it's not that hard, so I don't see that as a reason, especially when you already have the modelling done for the buildings and environs. Perhaps they realised they can't meet the new quality expectations for FS2020.

September 26, 20205 yr As I said when it came out, UK2000 products have always felt like good value for the money to me. The may be a little bit pricier than some others but, one it's a very small outfit -- effectively one person, I think? And two, it's somewhat of a niche market in a niche market. I'm a yank and one of the things I enjoy most is using the sim to explore places I don't live, places that don't feel comfortable and familiar. While I've spent a fair few weeks in the UK it's mostly been confined to London and Birmingham, so it is still one of my favorites for exploration. I've spent a lot of time flying back and forth between the small strips in his VFR Airfields sets, every now and then dipping into the bigger ones. I bought Bristol almost the moment it came out on my previous experiences alone. And I'm happy I did. It looks great, the runway slope is interesting, and it's nearby some great natural VFR scenery. It's become one of my main UK "bases". Gary, if you're reading, I'd pay top dollar to get something like VFR Airfields for MSFS, even if it only had half the number of airports as the original. Great job Gary and now I have the confidence to buy more MSFS airport from you and hopefully the word will spread and you sell loads. Good work, so credit where credit is due. Are you referring to UK2000 Belfast International Xtreme? I think that was the penultimate airport before Gary switched to his new HD airports. I was disappointed that the window textures were not improved in version 2 (and I did mention this at the time), but it was definitely a nice improvement over the old version. However, I have always been critical of low resolution textures in airport scenery packages, and I will continue to be critical of any that I see in the future. Frankly, low resolution textures have no place in 2020 products, whether they are on terminal buildings right next to the apron, or barns hidden behind trees on the airport boundary. If you are going to include 3D building models of any kind in an airport package, then I personally feel that the texture quality should be at an acceptable minimum standard on all of them. As for your comment about the static cars, why do they need to be disabled in P3D? I have the maximum number of 3D cars displayed in ALL of my UK2000 airports in P3Dv4.5HF2, and they do not affect the performance to any great extent.....and that's on my very average PC (i5 7600k @ 4.6Ghz/32GB DDR4-3600 RAM/6GB GeForce GTX 980Ti GPU). Just out of curiosity, do you all know this Gary guy or have deeper ties to him? If not, then buying something because it has a company name attached to it is quite a bad practice. You should evaluate products individually and if one doesn't stand up to criticism, then just don't get it. Personally, I don't have an affiliation to any FS developer and I couldn't care less about their bottom end of whether they're "good people" or not. I'm just a business transaction to them and they are nothing more to me either. Edited September 26, 20205 yr by Evros
