We had heavy showers with scattered thunderstorms in the area though....at least by me.

But here is the reports from Meteoblue that they use: https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/week/philadelphia-international-airport_united-states-of-america_4560342 since they have said they use that system for their live weather I would suspect live weather mode would match whatever that forcecast is.

I was just flying near KFAR with a OVC layer up around 8000 ft with tons of lightning.  No storms on the ATIS and no storms within 200 miles on the METARs.

I'm definitely getting thunderstorms where the data doesn't show it.  The metar for KBUF is mist with overcast. Nothing on Skyvector that would show any indication of storms.

Lots of thunder and lightning in the clouds that really shouldn't be there.

Ill check that with REX WF see if that works well

Yeah. My first flight after update had thunder and lightning in a partly cloudy setting.

I'm glad to know I wasn't having an episode of some kind of sensory hallucination.

I'm thinking these guys might want to beef-up the regression testing a bit.

Wonder if its pulling data from the wrong centers or something maybe its something that can be fixed server side.

Agreed to an extent... I live here too... BUT I have been checking on this multiple times over the last 3 hours; even while sunny and it has been CONSISTENT thunder and lighting for 3 hours in the sim.

So yeah, like OP, here at DCA (I live here) its overcast with a chance of thunderstorms in about an hour or two and looking at the radar they are a good 80+ miles away, but i'm getting pretty good lightning at DCA right now.

Thanks,  I've been on the fence about that.  Default weather just never seems to be right.
