CNN article calls out Microsoft scenery failure

I love this quote "The airport in question is Lagoa Nova, which in the real world is a little airstrip in Rio Grande de Norte and not an actual hellmouth."

Beech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?
ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry.

Wait a minute. Where were all the MSFS fans when the news media were fawning endlessly over the beauty of MSFS? Don't start complaining now when legitimate issues have been covered.

Who is complaining exactly?  I’m an msfs fan, I think it’s funny,  let those whose sims have no weird anomalies caused by funky data cast the first stone.  It was also discussed in the q and a yesterday.

So criticizing CNN is political?

I was thinking, for example, about a CNN banner that said "Breaking News: Boeing 777 will struggle to maintain altitude when it runs out of fuel"

There are plenty of examples of CNN's rush to fill bandwidth with poorly-vetted stupidity that have nothing whatsoever to do with politics.

And this is why I never believe a word CNN writes or says without serious fact checking.  This is beyond politics but some can't see that.  I wish I could find a FOX or OANN writeup about Flight Simulator and see what people will say then.  There's always cover for liberal news agencies if you dare say anything about them at the expense of every other news outlet.  Your comment was not political just an honest observation of poor reporting in general.

Love how one mod says no politics, and then another one immediately jumps in with politics.  Rofl

There is nothing political about the post you're talking about. In fact, the only thing about politics here are the complaints about the supposed political post... Someone was talking about the hypocrisy of the mods which is rather strange because members are making something up right now that isn't there in order to complain about the mods...

So wouldn't that be an anomaly opposed to a "failure"?  CNN never used the word failure in their article at all making this entire post a bit of clickbait...  Must be a REALLY slow news day when CNN is reporting on an apparent typo creating a "chasm" in MSFS scenery and the OP somehow spinning that into "CNN article calls out Microsoft scenery failure"

In Fact they appear to think it's really really terrific the best scenery hole ever better than any scenery hole that ever existed... 😉

(CNN) — Microsoft released its rebooted Flight Simulator program in August 2020, immediately wowing gamers with its hyper-realistic scenery, digitally distilled from satellite imagery.

The sim gives its users the ability to fly anywhere in the world, with our planet reconstructed with real-time weather conditions using Microsoft Bing mapping technology.

Thanks for the laugh 😅.

Well...MS did say this is a game for fun and entertainment. We now know that there are some really tall buildings as well as clouds and over cast down there in hell. It is also good to know that it at least has an airport with a couple of nice airplanes to fly. That should give some of us a bit of relief. Well done MS!! 😈

Given the way 2020 has been going... has anyone checked to make sure that airport hasn't been sucked into a void?  😄
