Jabiru J160/J170 released!

Featured Replies

It's another light aircraft, but the Australians apparently love it. It's out now, anyone tried it? Does it bring anything new in relation to the default aircraft of this kind?

Excellent I will be buying that straight away. It also seems to have a set of downloadable PSDs so I might even knock up a batch of liveries for it if I get time.

They are interesting things to fly in real life they use a central U shaped shared joystick between the seats.

I hope it comes out on Orbx or the Marketplace, because I am getting a little scatterbrained with all the simmarket and individual download sites and I dont think I can keep up with the pace of manual updates of this kind of content. But definitely will buy, looks like it has a cool little panel and some extra goodies. Just going to wait for Marketplace probably.

Am liking having IRIS back.  I won't be truly happy until we get the Spartan, but despite this sort of plane not really being my thing, I might splash for it.

Wont get it because its a bit redundant with what we already have, but it looks really beautiful actually. modeling is spot on

Looks like a nice light sport aircraft. However, we have plenty of those already. It's pass for me

it is definitely a must have for Aussies as every second aeroclub has one for hire here and it ubiquitous as a trainer in Australia. Doubly so as the pack includes two aircraft the J160 and the J170.

Granted, if your from elsewhere and not likely to come across one in real life it is not hugely different to most other UL/GA high wing, single engine, fixed prop planes in the sim. Though I suspect the FM may be better sorted then most default planes, we will see.

Or Buy it direct from Iris website. https://orbxdirect.com/partner/iris-simulations?fbclid=IwAR2s68tN6v_2jMyfwBo9a2lLLwDBHCmk1fl5I9TkpAxm3McK9KvsgSXUQqQ

if I understand correctly, it has apparently been submitted to MS for the marketplace but is waiting on MS to get around to putting it up.  ( it took the Long EZ a few weeks to make it to the marketplace after it became available direct but it is now there )

I have purchased and downloaded this version direct from Iris (I prefer they get all the money) but I have not to tried to install it yet.

It apparently comes with 2 airframe variants and 4 different cockpits, if I get time I will post up some pictures or a short video of the options.

Exactly.  How about something bigger like a Turbo Commander, C441, PA 31 Chieftain.  I know a2a are working on a nice twin but lets face it, it's years away from being available.

All I am saying is some verity would be great.

Cheers,

Bart

What about different stores? PCAviator for example?

Sweet... definitely be getting this one.  Learn't to fly on this aircraft...great little trainer and cross-country flyer.  If anyone is interested, i recorded all my training flights in the Jabiru.  Would be a good resource for anyone flying this aircraft in MSFS
