VFR low and slow is basically the only use for this simulator at this point.

Geez I didn't know that thanks.  Here almost all 75h for me are IFR, and what's more complete w/ RNAV GPS and ILS approaches directed by ATC, and selected thru the TBM930's G3000 MFD.  What's more, one can create an IFR flight plans directly in the MFD and it communicates retrogradely w/ ATC.  I guess I better stop this and use this simulator for VFR low and slow I just had no idea it didn't work for IFR.

mentioning what resolution you are using is VERY important info to list, if you don't, it doesnt give someone accurate buying advice. Just something to consider in future posts.  Thanks for contributing though.

What areas you are flying in and what aircraft you are flying also matter a lot, as well as what multiplayer and AI traffic settings.  I'm frankly skeptical of people saying they get 40+ FPS on budget hardware without completely specifying.

Trolling? Give me a break. And speaking of "isn't very clever", you mean "you're".

VFR low and slow is basically the only use for this simulator at this point. That being said, that's what I'm using it for (VFR tour of the Caribbean in the 172 at the moment), and for that it's absolutely fantastic. The visuals are every bit what you hear.

Nobody can say whether that kind of money is worth it in your particular situation, but if you really enjoy flight simulation and can afford that, I would absolutely recommend it.

And FWIW, I'm playing it on Ultra settings with a 8700K and GTX1080, both stock. Runs like a dream.

You can use it for IFR as well...but you're just not going to get RNAV capability...  So yeah, if the guy wants to use airliners with LNAV/VNAV, that's not going to work.

Given that I’m instrument rated in real life, no ya didn’t.

Ouch !

The game is perfect for VFR.

IFR is hit or miss with VNAV not working ILS not properly capturing or ATC screwing up. The A320 autopilot is a lottery as to whether it will hold its course or not as of the latest patch so whomever claims IFR is working wonderfully great for you.

Anyways back to the OP.

I pretty much plonked down the two plus grand and built a scratch system for this "game/sim" and tbh right now i am very ambivalent about it. But my focus is on IFR/JETS & AIRLINERS so if you are fine with low and slow for now and have the tolerance to wait for the "improvements" to show up then have at it.

If you are going this route however be very mindful of the costs of graphics cards right now. Nvidia screwed the pooch with the RTX 3080 launch so their 20XX series cards are still holding very high asking prices. In the same breath, AMD is releasing a brand new series of cards next week. If they can satisfy the massive demand vacuum Nvidia left then you may see some movement in the used graphics card market and also possible price drops from Nvidia when they eventually supply enough chips to its board partners.

Additionally as someone else mentioned Intel may have been toppled in single thread performance and picking up a B550/5600X combo would bring you right up there in terms of maximizing the performance of the sim.

If you are going the build route just wait a few weeks. The market is going through a transition.

I think its definitely worth 1.00 .

And even more,, it not like they are just leaving things as is,, work in progress,,etc etc etc.

ANSWER is YES.

I dont think OP is even reading his thread no responses from him . lately.

I did an ILS approach in the stock caravan yesterday worked 100 percent even put it on the ground for me,,the flare was a little harsh but it worked,,

Then I did ILS in stock TBM and it worked fine also,. So  maybe sometimes hey mess up ,

But they are definitely NOT  broken 100 percent unusable.
