GTN 750 w MSFS

Featured Replies

Sure would like to use the GTN 750 in MSFS 2020.  Does anyone know if the ASOBO team would consider that possibility?

John

I doubt that Asobo would like to add yet another Garmin GPS to the list of disfunctional GPSs that they launched with.

And RXP has stated that the current state of the MSFS SDK means that they cannot add their GTN at the present time.

Bert

hillsboy,

I am with Bert again here.

Apart from that, I think RXP or even Flight1 would be a far, far, better proposition that an Asobo version.  That comment by the way is not a criticism of Asobo just based on the length of time the other two have had to "perfect" their product, support issues aside.

Once again the dread SDK is the "bad boy" and until that is fixed, repaired, updated or just plain working properly, sadly I cannot see quality devs like RXP, PMDG, Quality Wings and others of this ilk, coming forward to develop on this sim.  Its going to happen eventually though, and, of course, we have the other platforms in which to enjoy those quality aircraft.

Think potential and that in itself, has been said many times before.

My System. Motherboard. ASRock Taichi X570 CPU Ryzen 9 3900x (not yet overclocked). RAM 32gb Corsair Vengeance (2x16) 3200mhz. 1 x Gigabyte Aorus GTX1080ti Extreme and a 1200watt PSU.

1 x 1tb SSD 3 x 240BG SSD and 4 x 2TB HDD

OS Win 10 Pro 64bit. Simulators ... FS2004/P3Dv4.5/Xplane.DCS/Aeroflyfs2...MSFS to come for sure.

Aside from the SDK issue, the 3D gauges would have fit perfectly in an existing gauge location in the aircraft's panel. And even if the stock GNS gauge location could house the GTN, the connection to the aircraft model (for example, knob twist and button push logic) would have to match up. This is not an insurmountable problem, but when combined with the state of the SDK, it's going to be a while before we see an A2A C172 with GTN gauges.

I really liked the GTN750. Really intuitive to use.

Easy also.

It is not too late to bump up the question for the Q&A:

Bumped! Here's hoping...

Well I don't know about you and their comment to the question during the Q&A, but I find it quite interesting in its own way. At least the question was asked...

Hey all -

Honestly the lack of solid GPS system that matches my RW plane (PA-28-181) + GTN 650 is causing me to stick with bush flying and VFR fun.   I have been checking the news feeds everyday for some potential movement on RealityXP or Flight1 developments.    Thanks for chiming in Jean-Luc.  I look forward to the tools being made available for you to move forward!

I was a bit annoyed at Asobo modelling the GNS family instead of the GTN (and even the GNS is barely in any of the bundled planes, the Robin has no GPS at all). As much as I know the GNS has more installations in real life, the GTN is just an order of magnitude quicker to use. I miss the RealityXP one I fitted into my TB20, and it would go great in a steam gauge Robin DR400 (not the stupidly low power 100 hp Cadet variant Asobo inexplicably decided to implement, but a 180 hp Regent!)

@Alvega I believe the page is accessible as long as you're registering to the FS2020 forums.

I'm registered, but I get that error.

You're right, by the time I've posted the link they most likely have moderated the discussion away...
