It was a blast.....I was in the XCub, which is not slouch either....but can't land as short as Savage Carbon (at least with me at the controls) 🤣

 

Sadly the model is not being recognized so it throws in a Bonanza....which looks pretty funny when its trying to imitate a tail-dragger. 🙂

Then on our way back to Capo Airport, I noticed a soccer pitch and basically invited @cavaricooper to another landing challenge....his Cub is the winner...but we both had an absolute blast!

 

 

Can't tell you how nice this plane is to fly....and with the 3rd notch of flaps...can land on a dime and give you 8 cents change. 🙂

Could not have picked a nicer plane to do my 1st group flight with my new PC!  (10700K with a 2070, fantastic performance increase over my 8700k with an old Titan)

@cavaricooper was already in flight doing a leisurely morning flight over his hometown....I joined him as he was approaching 3FD1....I flew a bunch of circles until we could get the group flight issue I was having solved (He invited me...I never saw his tag but he could see mine.  It took me leaving his group, creating one on my own and inviting him...odd issue but resolvable).  We then headed over X39 where he did a lot of pattern work to get his 201 endorsement.   Then back to his home airfield at KVDF.

Hehe...was trying my best to fly from the cockpit and keep in good formation with him.....I tend to fly in external view a lot because I can see so much more of the beautiful scenery that way. 🙂

 

External view?! Lawdy lawdy. 😛

It is true that if you are flying formation, there IS no scenery, just the other plane. My best online flights are if I can tag on to someone. Preferably someone with TAWS active. Traffic! Traffic! 😄

She has a new update, and so does Monument Valley- two of my VERY favorites in this Sim.  Both Asobo (and Orbx) should be paying close attention... they both are freeware and FANTASTIC.  With the recent US Update, and Asobo "improving" Monument Valley, this illustrates what can actually be done by an altruistic and passionate developer on a much smaller and more detailed scale.  Asobo has the entire world to worry about, but the framework allows for this-

She will have a bit more tuning available later this week, and there is a fly-in scheduled Saturday!

Grab them both and enjoy!

Insanely better performance.

Note this is a "hypothetical" aircraft with a light weight carbon fibre frame. It is not modelled on a real aircraft that currently exists, but it is definitely fun to toss around.

What I love about it is that below 5000RPM (I habitually take off at less at lower weighs) it’s docile like my old 7AC. There’s NO NEED for more in normal ops. When you wanna go crazy push the power forward and add lotsa drag and you have pin point flight path control.

Very happy with this one!
