Which in it's current state, I cannot due to how terrible it looks. Too sadly true. I love night VFR iRL. This sim, until the night lighting "fix", was the only one I've ever seen that was authentic enough for night VFR immersion. Now that's so far gone I can't even bear to fly at night any more. It's so ridiculous with those long bright strings of lights on every highway running through rural areas. This desperately needs to be fixed. November 20, 20205 yr And now, all traces of a possible lighting "fix" have been removed on the latest feedback snapshot bugs/wishes. I sure hope we can all make enough noise so they can fix this. 😞

It doesn't work that way on photogrammetry scenery, only autogen buildings. So it doesn't effect Disney World since that's photogrammetry. They're not making the graphics worse because of the XBOX version, in fact the opposite will be happening, they're currently working on adding Direct X 12 because of the X-Box version, and they said during one of the Q&As that it will allow them to add more graphical features. I believe they also said DX12 will hit PC before the X-Box version even releases. Also that would make no sense to make PC version worse because of X-Box, since they (the devs) can controls the graphical settings like the PC version, they can set the X-Box version to just run on lower settings on its own without doing that to the PC version. No one wants to use this sim without Photogrammetry as things will look like word not allowed. So in essence something needs to be done with adding more lighting to Photogrammetry buildings with special attention to places like Disney World, Universal Studios, and many other special locations around the world. November 20, 20205 yr Seeing the awful lighting in the latest updates just makes me appreciate how the night lighting use to be. December 6, 20205 yr Is anyone NOT seeing runway lights on downwind? I can see taxiway lights but won't see runway edge lights until about 45 degrees off final. (Real Taxiway lights are really hard to see aloft at night.) Feature or bug? Some real edge lights are directional...so you may see a little bit but they way they have it now is actually kinda realistic. Just wondering if anyone observes the same or maybe my light mod for the VL3 is screwing with things. Haven't seen or noticed this but the night lighting now is allot better after the USA update and Dec 3rd patch than it was before. It's much closer to the Vancouver Harbors video posted above. You have this affect but also the street lights can be seen. This wasn't the case before. The soft ambient light was displayed by itself in the past. Now it's a blend that works nicely. At this point I hope Asobo leaves it alone and moves on to other issues. The main street lighting is still a bit much but I'll take this to what we had around the 1.9.3 era. December 6, 20205 yr I haven't really tried night lighting since the last update totally destroyed it. But you guys are making me more hopeful so I am curious to try it out now. I hope they have really toned things down so that I can enjoy night flying to its fullest. Just wondering if anyone observes the same or maybe my light mod for the VL3 is screwing with things. Actually that would not be a bug. After 10hr of VFR night flying in just the last 30 days, it is my experience that runway edge white lights are hard to see unless you are almost aligned on the extended centerline as if they were directional ( which they are not afaik). Blue taxiway lights are for some reasons easier to see in downwind. Minos
December 6, 20205 yr But why are the runway lights always on? Even during the day? I'm surprised this hasn't even been addressed by Asobo yet. December 6, 20205 yr They should do with the street lights like they did with the runway lights - directional visibility. Most street lights are not seen from above in reality, only their glow on the ground and on the surrounding objects.
