Global AI Ship Traffic celebrates today 10 years anniversary 😄

On the 24th February 2013 I communicated for the first time publicly about the project on the French website pilote-virtuel.com. The thread in French where it was first communicated is still alive with more then 900.000 page views and it counts the whole history of the project. You can find it here: http://www.pilote-virtuel.com/viewtopic.php?pid=1109108#p1109108

When I first launched it is was here on Avsim and on Flightsim.com - yesterday iI agreed with Nels from Flightsim.com that he could host again so it is now also available here https://www.flightsim.com/files/file/209967-msfs-2020-global-ai-ship-traffic-gaist-ultra-v3/

Congratulations! Many thanks for your efforts and the wonderful thing that is GAIST. Can't imagine the sim without it.

Well, in fact there is no need to do the 300.000 - we actually have so many different models that we get a very decent coverage of sizes and types when we run the Real Time version. Still when I am travelling around I do see ships that I would like to include and I always also have a bunch of requests in the inbox 😄

Don't need 300,000. Just add these to your never-ending list. Pretty please?
Will increase the UK-France cross-channel ferry traffic.

I noticed that there were more GAIS V3 ships in the Bristol Channel today than I've ever seen before. Is this the prelude to the GAIS Live release tomorrow?😇😂 Well GAIS releases have usually been on a Sunday?

But AIG does not releases on Sundays 😉

Testing the beta of the new User Interface for Global AI Ship Traffic Real Time on a trip from Rio de Janeiro to Santos in Brazil while sun goes down... There are some harbor infrastructure missing but the ships were where they should be 😄

Because Sundays are RUHETAG! 😉

Is it coming back to flightsim.to ? One of the big advantages of the sites is not having to check around numerous different ones all the time, and the notifications it gives on updates..

Chock 1.1: "The only thing that whines louder than a jet engine is a flight simmer."

No, both I and most of those of the other designers behind GAIST who have had individual uploads to Flightsim.to will not return as things are. While Flightisim.to did give more or less in to our request of being able to delete our files, there are other parts that remain in the ToS that we do not agree to. Further, the way they presented Premium and the Creators Program and the way they reacted to this discussion I personally do not agree to. I know it was a convenient site for users, but you will have to get used to something else if you want GAIST. We lived many years without Flightsim.to and the project will survive without. We will inform across fora and media when we are ready with a new version and we will help making sure that there will be competition between sites, so no individual download site can abuse of their position.

My point has been further explained in various other threads here on avsim and in other sites. So please take this as information and take the discussion in those threads if needed. I will return to finalizing Global AI Ship Traffic Real Time.
