Taxi Ribbon how to operate from the key board?

Featured Replies

Is it possible to toggle off and on the taxi ribbon from the key board. I have looked on key board but cannot see an option to do that. Is it even possible ?

Don't think it is possible. Although I agree, it really should be an option on the ATC panel and toggle-able with a key as well.

Yeah, a keyboard toggle would be nice. About half the time after landing, I don't get the taxiway ribbon. No idea why...

Has to be done in settings which is why I usually let the copilot taxi to parking.

Ive found it tends not to work on 3rd party airports.  Havent seen an issue otherwise. (Except of course at tiny airports)

Do airports still use the 'follow me' vehicles?  I have often thought that would be a good way of doing it - follow the truck until you see the marshaller waving you in.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

With Vehicles constantly roaming around in MSFS, it would be nice if AS uses one of them as a follow me Vehicle.

I have turned off the Taxi Ribbon for now, not that it wasn't helpful at times, but there appears to be a glitch where turning it on activates untitled POI markers.  I really don't need a bunch of markers destroying my view, so I keep the ribbon off.

Yes  that is a good idea BUT....if you or he misses the designated / programmed runway exit by landing too far down the runway he will try to go over the grass and even through buildings.I have found the co-pilot to be pretty poor sometimes. If he does takes off he will not follow the programmed/planned  course, maybe I am not doing something correct.

Happens on default airports sometimes as well.

Since the lady doesn't scold me when I use the wrong taxiway, it stays out 😁

The ribbon can be helpfull especially on larger airports, but because of the runway marker that stays visible during the whole flight I turned it off. Now I use LittleNavMap to show me the layout, and I noticed that the taxiways signs are more usefull than I initially thought.

When you are coming to the runway, make sure to stop completely at the hold short and contact ATC, when you do this and they clear you to take off the runway marker usually disappears.
