Windows defender is flagging this more me. Is this expected and I need to turn it off, or are others having issues?

Can we also edit payware scenery purchased through the Marketplace? I've been worried that we wouldn't be able to open those due to encryption. It would be great to find out I was worried about nothing.

No. The files are encrypted.

Sorry to say that I'll never purchase scenery from the marketplace because of this. Kind of sad, because I was looking forward to having things more streamlined this time around.

Clearly the developers are not that concerned about their afcad files being pirated. You can edit afcad files when purchased through all of the other methods,

Is there anyone who is succesfull of opening a stock airport ? I am stucked with an "xml erros" during openning of the airport and can not go further ? This was an mentioned error in the manual but then log reporting appears and ADE exits.

My guess is the 'average' end user won't have much use for an ADE.  There is certainly a subset of users who enjoy creating new content, fixing perceived problems w/ existing content, and so forth perhaps sometimes even more than using the simulator itself.  I'm delighted to have a quite complete package already w/ MSFS that already works wonderfully and am happy to see how the sim evolves over time from within.  As a consequence, I believe, nothing has 'broken' since day 1 for me.  I take that back, the only thing that 'broken' are the display and selectability of ILS frequencies in MFD on 4 of the 5 3rd party airports I purchased. None of the default airports so far have had this issue.

ADE can be very useful for end users to tweak airports design files to their liking.  Things I’ve used it for in P3D are primarily fixing airline gate assignments and setting airports up for proper parallel runway operations (one for departures and one for arrivals).  There’s another thread in the forum right now about incorrect approach lighting at a default airport.  I haven’t tried this alpha yet but conceivably it could alter lighting types.
