Unfortunately, to support @virtuali, i purchased another about 10 FSDT products from his sale at Simmarket. We'll see if that was a big mistake............. January 6, 20215 yr No. Never had a single problem. Usually very reliable. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. Win 10 Home. 500g Samsung 960 as Windows home. 1 Gb Mushkin SSD for P3D. GTX 1080 8gb.

January 6, 20215 yr Author well, I’ll be very happy to have my new FSDT sceneries, I cannot quite figure out why every other developer installs my purchased products with no drama, over 4GB Orbx in minutes, FSDT - 4 hours, just for installing PHNL (just about a complete waste of my time). very ‘clunky’ process so far - amateur compared to the other vendors I’ve experienced. dreading installing the other FSDT products I have purchased today - bummer... If their servers or something in between you and their servers are "corrupt" or "lacking speed", of course installs will take hours. @craigeaglefire: Did you ask at FSDT Support if they have any issues? Because their scenery is "getting downloaded" as a part of the installation process. So if the download is very slow or interrupted, you will have a slow/bad overall installation experience too. January 6, 20215 yr Commercial Member This will be my one and only reply to this post, because the OP has been obviously in contact with me by email since yesterday and, after I gave him some explanations and things to try, like disabling the antivirus and firewall and giving a direct link for a file which was supposed to be "stuck" ( the direct link was just as slow, proving the problem didn't had anything to do with our updater ), he started to SPAM my email with a long list of unspeakable insults, using the worse of foul language so, I guess he's now coming here for "help", since he surely must have realized that, by reverting to express like an animal instead of a civil person, probably "reduced" his chances to get proper support, which is what he got until he started with insults. And please, dear @craigeaglefire, don't you dare to contest this, because if you do, I would publish here, for everybody to see, all the list of emails containing all your insults, which would likely result the topic closed, which won't help anyone. So, I'll just forget all the insults by email never happened, and I ask everybody to simply acknowledge that and I won't publish those email, unless the OP would try to deny or argue with that. Being a successfully flight sim developer for 27 years means you also saw EVERYTHING, and got in touch with a wide variety of individuals so, please, let's just pretend it never happened. So, I'm replying for the sake of others, who might be mislead there's a "problem" installing FSDT, when there's clearly none. As everybody can clearly see here, all downloads are working fine for everybody, except for the OP, and another user, who is also located in Australia so, my guess there might be something happening there. We don't use "our server", THAT would be "amateurish", and we have seen so many times developers using "their own server", going down each time they have a new release, which is something that never happened to us, because we use a proper 2-level delivery method, which works like this: - Our files are originally hosted on Amazon S3, in the US. So no, we don't have "our server", we just use the best one around. - Nobody is really downloading from Amazon directly, we let Cloudflare, which is the biggest CDN there is, to spread the load of downloads across a network of more than 200 servers worldwide: https://www.cloudflare.com/network/ So, each user will download from the Cloudflare node closest to him, and this is completely handled by Cloudflare, we don't have any control on that, but considering there are millions of websites using it, I guess it normally works. I also checked Cloudflare status, and there hasn't been any problems reported in Australia in the past days: https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/?_ga=2.251809679.722578264.1609930710-1833076930.1609930710 So, I really don't have any explanations why you are getting slow downloads in Australia, but I can surely understand why you are getting good downloads from OrbX, in Australia. I use ExpressVPN, which is quite good, and I use it for the PRECISE reason to simulate me being in another country, when a user report downloads problems I cannot replicate. So, I configured the VPN to use Australia as my location, and started the FSDT Live Update, with the following results, with 18 products for P3D installed and 6 for MSFS: - With nothing to download, it took 1 minute 50 seconds to go through the whole process - Removing a 163MB file from KORD MSFS, which the OP reported being stuck for hours, it took 2 minutes 8 seconds so, just 18 seconds to download the file reportedly stuck. This is the same file I asked to download manually by providing a direct link and the OP confirmed it was slow even with the direct link ( proving is NOT our software, maybe blocked by the firewall or antivirus ). So, clearly, it doesn't seem there's something wrong with downloads Australia per-se, so it's possibly a local ISP issue. Trying with a VPN might be the best solution.
