Did as above...gave me the discounted price but not $0.00 (free).  So how do I get the update for free?

The sales page has been updated with only one product (4 Seasons.)

The 4 season pack includes all 4 season and are final version. The individual packs were for people who did want to buy the full pack.

Lastly, as an example spring/ fall means  it's spring in North hemisphere and fall in South hemisphere.

I don't understand the point of buying seasons given that in many countries, due to global warming, there is no real winter anymore. Where I live, it's kind of a mix between late Fall and early winter. Sometimes it's freezing, the next day temperatures jump up into the double digits Celsius. 

How do these season addons account for this?

"I am aware Asobo will be releasing seasons. I am not sure how they will do it but I am pretty sure they will not fix the huge mess with wrong trees, wrong sizes,  everywhere in the world.  Right now the default trees have wrong tree sizes. Some very large and some very small in wrong places. In Los Angeles trees look like bonsai trees. Most of these have been corrected to normal size trees. Or huge trees in other areas where it should be small.

These season packs are not just color changes. I seriously doubt they will go to each region and fix the wrong trees used.. The entire ecosystem has been changed. 

Even with Asobo's new season, the new ecosystem used here should still work. I cannot confirm this though until they release it. Hopefully I can adapt it to their new season."

Looks like things have changed with the latest updates with the free updates not being offered to new buyers on the SimMarket product page.

Look at your original order in your account at SimMarket.
Mine now shows Multi_Seasons_BijanV2.zip available for download instead of the original four seasons file that I bought.
The Multi_Seasons_BijanV2.zip file contains the four new North/South, Summer/Winter/Spring/Fall folders.

I logged into my account and it was under my "Downloads". It's version 2 with the four FallNorth_SpringSouth_Bijan etc. seasons and no GUI, so I think that's the proper one.

I installed it into the Addon Linker directoy and will enable seasons as required.

I think the way it works is you can customize the season in any area based on the map colors in the link below.. 

Each of those colors represents region which can be customized by user if you have some knowledge of xml files.

https://ecoregions2017.appspot.com/ This map is what Asobo is using currently in the sim.

So if you don't have hard winter in your area, you can look up the map to see where you are and adjust the winter colors to have less brown/grey and more fall colors. Again, this requires some xml editing.

 

@BijanStudio Is there any source I can check if an update for the multi seasons is available? I now discovered the third time just by chance that the .zip file on simmarket was updated without any notification or anything. Please, please improve this stuff, it is annoying to make a guess game and redownload the same file every second day to check if potentiall one of the four multiseason packages is updated... Maybe using an small updater instead? Or at least telling simmarket that the file was updated and using version numbering (as suggested already several times...)?

Hi Chris,

The notification update are sent to all buyers when I do an update. It's automatic. I have no control of changing it since I don't own the site. I know buyers get notifications since I hear feedback about it. Please check our spam or junk folder in your mail to see if the email went there.

What I can do rename the main zip file too so you know the version number.

Thank you.

FWIW, I've gotten an email notification for every update so that part is working just fine.
