Made the same flight, no problem. I noticed that when I turned the settings to medium, my V ram started at around 82% but by the end of the flight it was at 92%. My guess is when I had the starting point of 92,I was probably up around 100% at the end of the flight. I think this may have been my issue.

I can pretty much guarantee that was the problem. 6 gigs of Vram like it or not is just not enough for higher graphic settings. You will likely notice less pauses as you enter a dense scenery area as an added benefit. If you still have any issues lower your terrain loading distance down one notch and that should take care of it. Your watching the v ram usage so you will be able to fine tune to your liking. Enjoy your flight!

You might want to check your a windows event viewer. I have done some more flying tonight and had two more CTDs. The event viewer showed it as being related to VCRUNTIME140.dll.

Been flying for months without any CTDs and now this has started since today’s update.

Ryzen 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 64GB, Win 11. MSFS2020. Moza, MFG, Fulcrum & Virpil controllers. Quest 3 for VR.

First couple of flights done. The first around Southampton which has been completely trashed by the update.  No photogrammetry anymore.  2nd out of EGLC.  Frame rates now in the teens and really stuttery whereas they were in the 30's before with minimal stuttering.  CTD on flying around London after 5 minutes.  So far, not so good.

I flew into London City three times today, and my FPS were probably above 30 . I came in over the river and flew the ILS onto 27. Not a whole lot of scenery there, Looked good however.

Yes it's a shame about Southampton.  Not sure what they were thinking there.

Someone else reported the frame rate issue, but it was cured for them after a reboot of the computer.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Thanks Bobcat.  I'll have another go tomorrow to see how it goes.

One other observation on my third and final flight of the day is that Snowdonia looks a bit, well, brown!  I can't remember what it was like before but it seems a little at odds with the outside area.  And I hope some clever developer is able to make a proper version of the cafe at the top of Snowdon, that'll be good.

Hi Bob, I tried the flight last night on Ultra from EGNC to EGLC in the TBM and had no issues. I also wanted to point out loading up the same flight in medium I was observing 6.2 gigs of video ram in use. Again that's on Medium and it was much higher once I got to London City. Another observation was again at EGNC I was seeing system ram at 14.6gigs. So your really maxing out your system even on medium settings. While video cards are a nightmare to acquire due to cost and availability, adding another 16 Gigs of ram to your system may be something to consider and easy to perform.

Just an FYI if you have ORBX... Something else I noticed was the scenery around London was a mess (very flat and double buildings) with the latest update and having ORBX. However they have already posted they are working on an update for there scenery in the area. Should be out in about a week.

Bob it did say in the release notes and listed as #1, I hope this helps you.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THIS UPDATE:

  1. If you are using the manual cache feature, please make sure to delete it via the in-game menu and create an updated version as we performed some backend technical updates.

All very well for them to state that; Deleting Rolling Cache prior to Updating.

But they didn't release that information until the Update was live. So there's no way of doing that becuase you don't get past the Update screen when you boot in to MSFS 2020.

The "How To Prepare For This Update" Notes should be released a few days/ even hours BEFORE the Update goes live.

It's not Rocket Science Asobo.

Unless of course they meant; "What To Do Immediately After The Update" has happened.

In which case, 'clarification' should be their watch-word in the future. But to my mind that Release Note states to do that BEFORE Updating.

Just makes them come across as amateurs and punching way above their weight with this game. (Sim)

Got this resolved. Logged it with their zendesk who replied about tens mins later with steps to resolve. Went through it this evening and now managed 3 full flights with any issue.

Don't use manual cache.  I think that is what the release notes said, delete manual cache.

I have  gone on about 8 flights so far, with zero problems. I reduced three settings as I posted above in Graphics and that seems to have worked. More stable now than it ever was.

I've only got 6GB of VRAM and I managed to fly along the Thames through London for half an hour or so this afternoon, reasonably smooth and no crashes. Settings are just using the High profile.

Sure. This is for the VCRUNTIME140.dll error causing a CTD...

To troubleshoot this issue, do the following:

  • Press the Windows Key + R, type "appwiz.cpl" and then press Enter.
  • Locate the Microsoft Visual C++ programs on the list.
  • Select each entry and then click Uninstall.
  • Download a fresh copy of Microsoft Visual C++ from this pageand then install it.

From around 5 mins after release that info was here for everyone to see. So......as it’s normally in the release post.

The update within the sim did not start it just tells you to go to the MS store. So if that’s not the time to simply find what’s happening, then......what is? it’s not rocket science is it to look up what’s happening first?

Also you have to go to the MS store to DL 1GB first and as that’s DL,.........it’s not like once you click on the MSFS that’s it, is it?
