February 16, 20215 yr So far happy here. No CTD. Menu seems to be available faster than before. Did turn Bing data on and first flight at night was into LOWI. Smooth and no more lights in the air (those floating UFOs). Let’s see but maybe they fixed it. What they did not fix is the excessive bump in the rwy at LOWI with default LOWI and ORBX LOWI installed. Noticed that the update did automatically re-install the MSFS default LOWI which I deleted manually before exactly to prevent this bump as obviously the default scenery is still not compatible with the addon 3PD scenery Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"
February 16, 20215 yr Did a few test flights. Watermasks Polynesia: Still way off reality. London: Very nice details but a slideshow on a 2070S with clear skies. UK Cornwall countryside: Nice but no visible difference to the earlier version. GPU usage seems to be lower than before. Will try cranking up the details slider a bit. Quick verdict: Nothing broken but nothing to write home about either. YMMV. Hans
February 16, 20215 yr Commercial Member Several test flights here with no problems at all -- and the immersion-breaking granulated/pixelated clouds are gone! I was worried about performance but it's smooth as ever. Clouds look much more realistic. Of course everyone's mileage varies with this sim. Hopefully fewer are unhappy with this update. February 16, 20215 yr Runs fine on nothing but ORBX in the Community folder. Now adding planes and liveries. More testing. Was very smooth using the 787 KPWM to KBOS. AP etc worked great as did FSplayground for replay of landing. ORBX London in particular is known to cause issues but there's a thing that was updated server side a few days ago and causing anything including a general ground texture to CTD ckyliu, proud supporter of ViaIntercity.com. i5 12400F, 32GB, RTX4070, more in "About me" on my profile.
February 16, 20215 yr Have people reporting crashes in here previously had any crashes? I ask because I have NEVER had a single crash with MSFS. I keep reading posts where people are complaining about crashes, however I only have about 75 hours so maybe I don't have enough time in the sim yet. I will keep my fingers crossed. I have had one crash in maybe 6 or 7 flights, but never two crashes on one 100 mile flight.
