Well after a whole lot of aggro with the download looping and crashing, I finally managed half an hour or so over Bristol and was underwhelmed to say the least.  Noticing that the buildings were still generic, I realised that the update had turned off my bing data and turning it on improved things a little.  Unfortunately, Bristol looks nothing like Bristol compared with Mark Taylors Google photo freeware and the Clifton suspension bridge is worse than the freeware addon I previously had. I was hoping for the two severn bridges as well, but will have to put my add-ons back into the community folder.

The ground textures and roads are better, but the photogrammetry scenery only covers a small area of the City and Ashton Gate is not included. Where I live, near to Filton Airfield does not have correct buildings either.

I was expecting Bristol to be as good as Southampton, but unfortunately not. As far as the rest of the UK is concerned, I will do a bit more exploring tomorrow, gradually putting back my addons into the community folder before I suspect one of them will break the sim.

There were a few others above Bristol exploring tonight as I could see yhem on multiplayer and I apologise to whoever it was I crashed into thinking that it was someone else 🙂

I flew from KATL and everything was as green as summertime. Was it like this before?

I think there are texture changes all over the world. I too did see that the colors at KATL seem more vibrant. I then spawned at MKTP and saw the same thing. even the road textures seem better to me.

Perhaps mind over matter as you are the only other person I see make this observation.

It was so obvious to me I started a topic on the subject to see if I am just experiencing 'mind over matter'.

Seeing your observation here makes me believe that there has been some scenery changes all over the world. Certainly see that the scenery spikes near Georgia Regional are now gone.

It takes 9 minutes from the start before this live blog starts. Actually it is still live and taking comments right now. FlyByWire A320NX flight live after update.

His second landing at EGGD Bristol had a slight drop in fps on approach (airport scenery loading?), not bad at all. Despite what looked to me a nice landing you could hear the passengers screaming, tiny high pitched voices in the background, LOL.

EDIT: The comments said the screaming passengers is due to the 'self loading cargo mod', whatever that is....

Self loading cargo is the addon for pax immersion.

Based on reports that I have seen from other users, you may want to check out Southampton again.

Did you download the UK update in the content manager too? It is easily missed and it contains the updated buildings.

I certainly did, but I was expecting a better rendition of Bristol that covered a greater area than it did.  I will definitely take another look at Southampton though (If only ASOBO had done Bristol so well).

I'm wondering if there's something different about the way the British photogrammetry is delivered that makes it several times slower.

Going to Boston everything's pretty much right there. In London I have to stop and wait for 10 or more seconds for it to finalise and even then the final result is barely worth waiting for. Maybe it's purely the amount of people in London right now.

Photogrammetry worked fine for me, however, a side-note I was using 15GB of VRAM whilst over London. Maybe that is the cause of peoples stutters if they have less that that available?

Did you have a seperate download in the content manager? I went to content Manager last night after the update and it said everything was up to date.

Thinking about it at work today, is it perhaps in the Marketplace? I seem to remember that's where the US update was and will have to check there too after work.

Indeed, it is. Just "buy" it for free.
