Well-said. When the north of the UK was full of spikes I decided to immigrate to New Zealand and enjoyed several NZNS-NZQN flights. The world is huge, and there's no law that says I have to fly in a singular area of the world at all times 😁

This is reductive and again in contradiction with the « philosophy » of MSF. 

It is sold as a platform (Neuman’s word) integrating flight modeling, weather, new air dynamics and 🥁the ultimate world scenery.  Overall it delivers. 

The last point (and penultimate one  for me) is its competitive edge, what sold it to the P3D or XP users. We can now fly in regions which were neglected by P3D. 

We can discuss the nerfed apparence of the sea  or even the sharpness (or rather lack thereof as Schack pointed out) of the mesh. These are subjective points. 

The spikes and coastal artifacts (triangles of creeping water) are facts. One major component of the  sim as it was designed to be, is indeed broken. 

This is all the more annoying that the released version was clean, that the mesh technology is not rocket  science and the team seems to me a little laid back on the matter.

I do not think that the team is inept.

I do think that the project manager is not up to the job and/or has the wrong priorities. Quality control being not one of them anyway.

No, it just makes your a thankless person, it just makes you a person happy to take and not give a thought about what someone has provided for you, just because you paid for it.
Should you be thankful because if it was not for Apple,Nissan or a good local mill, just what would you be using or eating? A lesser product than you like. So be thankful that someone makes them produces that you like, Or in your case don’t. Just because we all have to make a living does not mean we have to be thankless because they need to make a living also.

 It simply shows what type of person you are.

There is also nothing wrong pointing out problems but they is a huge difference in how that person goes about it and the manner they go about it.

Me too, but I don't love it. Useless to continue here, as the number of fans massively outnumbers the ones which see it at as an unfinished project which is managed by an unorganized team. The majority is right, so keep on loving it.

He is not a thankless person, and what do you mean when you say to him, ''It simply shows what type of person you are'' and that, ''It makes him a person happy to take and not give a thought about what someone has provided for you, just because you paid for it''.

Maybe you should learn not to be so rude and offensive to people.

You say "Rude" lets talk about that in the context of a post here.

I own a shop and from time to time things can go wrong. Person A comes in and starts rating and raving and telling me " what are you going to do about it?" Person B) comes in and says they have a probelm, points it out and asks if I could put it right please. Which one would I go out by way to make sure there more than happy with the out come?

A person (B)with a problem with MSFS could goto MSFS forums post a screenshot and explain were the problem is and as much info as possable. Giving the problem the biggest chance of Asobo seeing the problem, Key word "Could"

 Good grief, this thread is not about love or hate 🤣. It is about a little kick in the behind to a dev. who has shown a little complacency IMHO (not only my opinion or so it seems) in updating their "title" since release. That is all there is to it. 

Who said anything about love or hate? or is everything black or white?

Have you posted your finding and expained your probelms on MSFS forums giving as must info as possable?  thats the way to help them.

Yeah, right ! Several 🤣. Like in 2 or 3 ? The world is  still covered with artifacts, spikes and the like. we find them everywhere.  My last "finds" in the upper Amazon , PNG and Borneo...  

 Why is so that a Mom & Pop businesses like Pilot's or Toposim have been able to cover the world with good and clean meshes and that you, Microsoft, can't ? Instead of cranking out new regions, can't you do the job and erase these warts first ?  And if you can't do the job, isn't it the time to open the sim (SDK) to mesh addons ?"

The issues I have with the update is the taxi lights all over the place. That is a silly mistake but they know and it will get fixed, I wish they did HF but hey they dont.

Unlike yourself and each to there own, I am very grateful to Asobo and MS have made this sim. So yer am very grateful to leave P3D/FSX behind becasue if  not for them I would be stuck with P3D. So paying is not a probelm and for all there work they need and should get paid. Just becasue I paid IMO does not mean I cannot be grateful.

I'm sure the Netherlands is also a good place to fly if you don't want to be bothered by sub-par terrain elevation resolution. 😉

Let's focus on mesh again. It's not only aboute spikes here and then and I agree it is much better now. It's about mountainous areas in general. Many detailed mountain shapes are missing and mountains (peaks) are way too rounded in many areas. So yes imo, a 3'rd party mesh addon is really missing. If MSFS does not improve world wide mesh by its own terms, then they should allow others to to so.

I show gratitude by not just saying "thank you" but by buying add-ons from the marketplace and other sellers. I'm also well aware of the magnitude of the project.

I've been through growing pains before with P3D, but I don't remember if P3D ever broke terrain, watermasks, added graphic anomalies to trees, or added blue lights all over payware airports? I could be wrong, but something I do not know how much longer I can continue to support this sim if it continues to break the one thing that makes it great - the visuals.

I keep going from cheerful to lugubrious in every flight. These issues are now ubiquitous and are affecting all my flights! So, while some are getting their money's worth, I can no longer say the same. I need to cease any further add-on purchases or do what Mitch did - just get away from MSFS. 😀
