Jorg said in a live stream that they had a realization that they need to make the default Garmin avionics good, and they were going to work on doing so. The G1000/3000 issue thread on the MSFS forums was added to the Feedback Snapshot, which said the changes / fixes outlined in that thread would be made in Sim Update III.

With Sim Update 3 we now got brightness control and the track up function. That's basically what the first version of the G1000/G3000 mod delivered a few days after the release...

Ok, sorted out the blank screens with the latest dev version of the FBW A320NX, but now i can select the alt, but have no choice other than 1500ft via the dial?? Tune the dial and it will skip to 1500ft, then no matter what you do it remains the same.

Hopefully the guys will be on it.

Let’s hope that now that they actually exist, the community modders will be able to fix them. They are pretty good at fixing Asobo’s sim.🙂 Watch for cool multi-coloured contrails on flightsim.to soon.🤣

Maybe, but I have a feeling someone will come a long in the spirit of Working Title and code a drop in replacement for the default that uses built in nav data. I love the official Garmin trainers, but they have drawbacks too.

What the.... I just started the sim and it updates to v1.13.17.0?! HAd been running the sim yesterday so I'm a little confused ...

 

Will check what  happens after that install

 

Edit: So did a reboot, still no change in Store or sim . But no problem, nothing that I need right now from update 3...

So any reports yet about the WT mods? What I have seen at least the GNS530 Mod is broken. 
Could basically mean all the planes I fly are now broken just for some tiny feature updates. Hopefully the community fixes this up quickly.

The contrails look to be particle closer to the airplane and then turn to an animated 2D effect further back.  It's not amazing but the particle part looks pretty good. 

Over all much improved. No more outlines of objects in the clouds,  taxiway signs look better, performance is a little better.  

Yet we still have lights on runways, taxiways and approach lights blazing when its perfectly sunny.  Probably my biggest complaint as this in theory should be so easy to fix.

Also, I guess I'm super lucky.  My updates always go super smooth and quick and I don't even remove anything from the community folder and it all just works.

... thus my post about a 'progress bar' a week ago.  You are lucky with the 30 seconds, I vary between 1 to 3 minutes randomly without any changes to my community folder.  I really have no idea if the sim is starting or not.
