OK guys, we just want to set the record straight when it comes to the contrails! 

Turns out that our product 'Enhanced Airport Graphics' and this new update doesn't mesh well when it comes to the contrails. Aside from that, it is working as intended.

Whenever Asobo releases updates sometimes it breaks certain add-ons or makes them behave in weird ways. This is why we developers have to scramble to fix these type of issues when official updates are released. 

The good news is, we have identified and addressed this issue. 

We will release an update to our add-on within the next hour or so which fixes the contrails issue. 

You will be able to download the updated installer from your Simmarket or Flight Sim Store account in about an hour.

Thanks Zinertek for letting us know!  I have this.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Just took off in the TBM: you can now dim the screens! Go to the MFD Home, Aircraft Systems, Lighting Config (it's the only available option) and drag that slider! And you can also change the map to North up, HDG up, etc. Afaik both options are new! Nice! I like the update so far! Also because I've flown for around 30 minutes and my PC didn't reboot...!

Maybe it's just me, but with the different issues in the sim that need fixing, twisting myself into a pretzel over how the contrails look, is not going to happen.

Because for some reason Asobo decided to place the new contrail textures in the same folder where the airport textures are located

Right. Who needs contrails anyway: I never ever see them from where I sit (in the cockpit). 😎

I couldn’t care less about how they look from my own plane as I can’t see them from the cockpit anyways. Wouldn’t mind them if they’re were visible on AI or MP planes.

Okay. Why would they do that? 

Surely they should only reference the aircraft.cfg from the Effects Folder?

Unless 3PDevs have 'broken the rules' and gone willy wally all over the Folder conventions in order to bring us their content in a timely manner; paying scant attention to how this could play out as the Sim finesses in its evolution?

If I remember correctly, all the above was present a month after WT Gxxx was released

chemtrails, bah who cares, a new landing challenge is here! 😅

Just to confirm, am I right in thinking the only improvement in the  GPS units is that that we can now adjust the brightness? Dear god.

We thought the same thing. You would think Asobo would place the contrail textures in an 'Effects' folder like in the previous sims but alas, it wasn't the case. 

The new contrail textures are located under the same folder housed by the airport textures.

Umm, interesting.

Could you take a screen shot of that folder structure post Update to show how they've done that - I'm not in the Sim at present and haven't D/L the Update, but I'd be interested to see the conflict.

Won't be able to fly until later in the day....  In addition to the brightness:

On the official MSFS forum someone said that OBS mode with GPS waypoints now works.  That would be a nice addition (it worked on the FSX Garmins). 

Also offset localizers/LDAs *may* be better based on the patch notes, will have to test, the wording is kind of strange.

The flight director might work with the A/P is turned off.

They removed the keyboard-bindings-only A/P from the VL-3 😞

That's all I've seen people mention so far.  It dosen't seem like there are any huge improvements, just small stuff that should have been done before release.
