I have completely boycotted any additional CA purchases and the Arrow, while appealing (as in...it has wings, flies in the sky, so I like it, LOL)...was never considered as a purchase...even at the reduced price.

And of course you are 100% correct.  If the things that broke make her totally unflyable, then recent Arrow owners new to the game will be in for a very unpleasant surprise when CA announces on their official support page (i.e. FaceBook):  "We've fixed the issues with the Arrow that the update broke, now we are just waiting for the Market Place to install the update....we sent it to them a few weeks ago...not our fault" 🙄

It's very possible Microsoft is the problem here.  Asobo only works on the things Microsoft tells them to work on.  If they get told "ship it" when the sim needs another 6 months of polish, they ship it.  If they get told to work on the XBox version instead of fixing CTDs in the PC version, that is what they do.  If they get told work on VR instead of Garmins, that is what they do.

It feels to me like Microsoft had a plan for what they wanted Asobo to do after release and they are sticking to that plan.  All the voting on forum threads, Q&As, and whatever are just "community management" PR BS to try to placate (manage) us.  The fact that Microsoft is "managing" the community means nothing as far as what the Asobo team would choose to work on if they had 100% control - they might be great people who think putting the sim on XBox right now is silly - it's all down to what Microsoft wants.

When Seb and other Asobo people get to make in depth technical comments on the Q&As they seem like capable and smart individuals so it is very likely there is more going on then we know about.

Or the Update will come in the next 28gb patch in July....

I think it's more MS to blame than asobo.  I remember when the sim was first announced they had a much longer development timeline and plans for much more detailed aerodynamics, systems modeling, and realism in general.  I remember asobo saying they wanted the stock a320 to be payware quality.  Then ms got more involved, released the sim so early, and now we have fixes mostly based on visual things to target the masses.

Asobo have been taken in as much as we flight simmers have. It was never about flight simulation.

It's MS creating World 2.0 in the Azure Cloud for virtual reality.

Asobo have been made fools as much as we have they've just been paid for the privilege.

MS wins again.

Well Asobo is noted for Console game developing, not PC game developing. They may be over their heads with his flight sim.

Exactly why MS gave them the contract.

I can't start any flight anymore. Yellow "fly" button is dimmed and I cannot press it :S Anyone else with that issue?

Yeah Bob....whenever it comes....the fact that a dev can announce that they've fixed their product, but due to their idiotic strategy to sell it exclusively on the Market Place and be completely reliant on the update schedule of MS/AS to fix their broken product is moronic at best.  It would be better for them to not announce that they have a fix for their plane until AFTER the patch drops in the Market Place so we couldn't ridicule and yell at them for not being able to support their own customers thru the whole update process.
Not sure if its gotten any better in the last few weeks....but regardless....it is painful to be a CA owner whenever a patch comes out. 🙄

What are you on about...have you even installed the update

Lots of people on the FS Forum complaining about loss of FPS after update.

You beat me to it re Microsoft pulling the strings. MS are the publishers. They decide what is developed, released, and when.

They have a new games console out. They want this to be flagship software for it and increase the user base. The focus for Asobo will be pushed towards the Xbox version at the moment.

Also, developers do not want to release products with issues/bugs. Publishers don't mind so much.

Thank you! Never realised that was even a thing. 

Unfortunately, it had no FPS improvement. 

However, I have now narrowed the bad FPS down to Pilot Plus' Wycombe Airfield. At standard airports / in the sky, the FPS is fine... is this normal when an update is installed and now the indi dev's make their tweaks? I'm so new to MSFS, I have no idea. 

PS. Didn't want to single out Pilot Plus, but that's the only airport I've bought so far as it's somewhat local.

Did you do the first update from MSFS? or did you download and install the smaller 1GB from the store first? This happened to me too. What version do you see when you are in MSFS?
