I too probably had that stting earlier and it was working fine.. now with this update its broke. When I removed the vsync, its good on the initial screen..but in flight its still a dog Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter

March 9, 20215 yr Author Alright, booting the game again after installing the liveries, the performance was just as terrible in the menus, and after loading a flight I was getting lots of stutters. But over time it started smoothing out, and now I am back to the menu and it seems to be mostly back to normal. I'm seeing stutters when exiting the menu and tiles are loading, but then it could be my HDD getting full with today's update. Who knows what's going on. I'll investigate further after cleaning up and defragging. V-Sync on and limit to 30 FPS by the way. The HDG Up mode is pretty much all I wanted from the stock G1000 and it's so nice to finally have that without the mod being required. Why no mention of this and the other G1000 improvements in the patch notes! It's like they want people to start complaining about missing features before the patch is installed. They really need to start being more explicit about what they are changing with each update. I've seen people reporting that the clouds look grainier. So far I've noticed some more pronounced grain in some extremely specific circumstances (but then it could be that I accidentally forced the sharpening filter on), and it's also taking more frames for the clouds to gather their samples while tweaking the cloud configuration or lighting, but if it means no more glowing outlines around aircraft and objects, I'm fine with it. I'm sure that over time, and maybe even with DirectX 12, they will find some new ways to improve the temporal cloud algorithms or denoising, or even open up more graphical fidelity as GPUs get stronger. And I have to say, I had no idea how much I needed those legacy liveries until now. 😍

March 9, 20215 yr For those noticing graphics that appear to be of lower quality than pre-update go check your settings. MSFS dropped me to the High-End preset, nothing customized as it was pre-update. LODs back at 100, etc. For me this was the 'fix' although the jury is still out on whether or not I'm seeing similar, better or worse performance with the settings I'd had before.

Thanks Affirm, without the WT G1000 mod, 100% default. I removed all the mods from the community folder before the update. March 9, 20215 yr Someone mentioned I needed to delete my rolling cache which I did..but when I set it back to on after delete..it defaulted to 8GB cache size and that was thrashing the internet..causing Stuttering. I increased it to 32GB and its much smoother at least flying the Seminal in O'ahu. I've not done the DFW approach again. I am afraid to do that.. LOL 🙂 Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
March 9, 20215 yr Yeah.. I noticed zero performance degradation.. At this point in the sim , as a viewer of such "outrage" threads you really have to take into consideration who is running it clean, vs who is running it with OVER 9000 tweaks and mods to default systems and planes. This early in a simulators development while all the "100% TOTAL IMPROVEMENT TO ________" mods are nice.. They are going to be outdated and rendered flawed and buggy almost as quickly as they appeared as the sim matures. People really need to step back and relax.. This is a simulator. Not the next Call Of Duty Franchise. Lots of underlying and overlying things are going to change as the sim matures.. Breathe people.. It's going to be ok.. March 9, 20215 yr Love how we need 30 pages of posts to say the same things we say at every update, yet everyone is still confused because the thread is 30 pages long and the process confusing because MS/AS never provided step-by-step instructions for updating.
