"Your Packages are out of Date" - about to lose my Logbook?

@marsman2020,

Asobo tried a new beta testing system this time around but clearly not enough thought went into it. By issuing beta testers the new sim, they screwed with the primary server version number, meaning all our sims are perpetually out of date and forced to run offline. They want us to update, but when they go back to Asobo to get the update, there is nothing there yet and voila, your PC (or rather the sim) is stuck in a confused loop.

I guess that is what happens when the beta testers qualifications are the fact that they were the first 300 to volunteer  and nothing else.

i have lost all my hours flyed!!!! how to restore it? thanks

I'm not sure that you can restore it once lost, unfortunately. The data is saved on Microsoft's servers so might be deleted once you lose it in the sim (or rather vice versa). I posted this method on page 2 of this thread which retained my Logbook, but I hadn't lost it beforehand.

OS:     Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU:  MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB]
SSD:  Corsair Force MP510 (for OS);  2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)
HDD:  Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet

Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)

If you click "YES" you WILL lose all your hours and the Sim will reset ALL settings back to Default New.

Ask me how I know . . .

Incidentally, you can still see your Total Flying Hours in seconds - divide by 60, and divide that by 60 to get your hours. You will have lost all details of flights/ aircraft/ locations in your log book however.

It seems to me there is some malevolent intelligence at work here. I was actually looking for a way to reset my cloud data, except in my case clicking YES didn't do anything. If only Microsoft gave us control over that data (backup, reset, export, import etc).

Flightsim rig:
CPU: AMD 5900x  | Mobo: MSI X570 MEG Unify | RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo | GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3090 | Storage: M.2 (2 & 4 TB) | PSU: Corsair RM850x | Case: Fractal Define 7 XL
Display: Acer Predator x34 3440x1440 | Speakers: Logitech Z906
Controllers: Fulcrum One Yoke | MFG Crosswind v2 pedals | Honeycomb Bravo Quadrant |Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant | Stream Deck XL & Plus | TrackIR 5 Tobii eye tracking

According to my pilot profile I've flown 53,702,980 total meters in 14 hours. After conversion to Imperial that's about 2 million miles per hour. Shirley this is important enough that I want to keep it forever. Who's Chuck Yeager?

Yes, I've been flying with DevMode = ON which borks the logfile, but com'on this is basic mathematics. Add, Subtract, Multiply or Divide. Why hasn't this been fixed?

I'm sure Microsoft would be happy to license your data back to you for a recurring subscription fee.

How to restore the flyed hours if you have pushed “yes”?

This nightmare keeps popping its ugly head again and again. Sigh!

No, if it ate your logs prior to what I posted, you are SOL I am afraid.

I seem to have lost all traces of Multiplayer too!

I wonder what excuse ASobo is going to have for all these people that lost their logbooks. Some of them had over 1,000 hours , now they have single digit hours. And you can bet money on it happening again.

I cant hit either yes or no cause the sim would freeze.

I did logout and logback into store after a reeboot and everthing seemed good, but first thing in the morning it popsup if I leave the sim on overnite. I restarted MSFS and it looks good again.

Has this affected people who bought through the MS store and those who use Steam? I use Steam and, so far, I have only had the out of date message once and my flying log is unaffected.

oops, should have checked the Steam forum first! Yes, Steam users can have the same log book problem.
