Regarding your question of EA new clouds capabilities, picture source is from Facebook, ActiveSky + EA + 5.2:

Great shot indeed.

Just to be critical: They still look pixelated like minecraft and the cloud tops are exactly the same altitude, like somebody cut them with a razor.

What position is your volumetricclouds slider at?

Medium and Upwards should not be pixelated.

Have you used any weather injection tool? Have you let P3D build a new volumetricclouds.cfg file? Search it otherwise, delete it and start p3d again. This will rebuild this file automatically.

Nad make sure you do not use Envshade at the moment. It is not updated yet.

Ok. Check the volumetricclouds slider position at high or ultra.

And the razor effect is a current limitation of P3D indeed.

Post at LM and tell them what you like and what you would like to see better the next time. It will help better to let them understand what users like.

They listen and read....and maybe respond.

But you need to ask yourself, do these clouds look better than 5.0 or worse? pixelation is dependent on your hardware capabilities, this is a shot taken by someone.. I am showing capabilities here.. hehe

In any case this is how ActiveSky is currently rendering them.. they will provide more adjustments now that 5.2 is finally out..

Yes, I use Activesky and deleted envshade and shader folder before install 5.2

Did not delete the cfg file, will try that!

I'm not new to upgrading P3D, but this time around FPS went from 30s in v5.1 to single digits in v5.2.  I have not changed any settings.  Trying to troubleshoot and hoping not to have to do a clean reinstall of everything.

Do you use AIG?  Have you seen the other thread about clearing shaders?

People who haven't updated their Chaseplane to v5.2 are reporting same issues - are you sure that your Chaseplane is up-to-date?

PC specs: i5-12400F, RTX 3070 Ti and 32 GB of RAM.

Simulators I'm using: X-Plane 12, Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) and FlightGear.

Just one question, where is Envshade and envtex strore their files? I did full reinstall though.
