Jörg talked in an interview about releasing the simulator on PC when they did so they can have at least one year of working with the community to influence direction and development before releasing on the Xbox. "Release" was just a point on the roadmap. They've actually been hiring for a long while before its release, and of course, for their other projects as well. June 14, 20214 yr So much for that guy who always brings up Steam daily users to convince us the sim is about to be shut down. I wouldn't hire more people to sail a sinking ship. Just sayin'. 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.

You'd see they're asking specifically for an autopilot programmer for MSFS, if you clicked the link and read what it said. Edited June 14, 20214 yr by Tuskin38
June 14, 20214 yr The Asobo Team is only partially responsible for this Unfinished Symphony - the real ones to blame is the Microsoft Corporation - ya know, the ones who call the shots and reap all the profits...

Now I understand better, I know how difficult it is to find a good C++ developer who knows aviation and autopilot. Maybe I should apply I've been trying to give them my free time to help them out with all these questions for 18 months now... what can I say?

LOL. edit: agree with the OP autopilot should of at least been working properly on launch though, but does that make a pilot a good pilot? Edited June 14, 20214 yr by jbdbow1970

June 14, 20214 yr They are hiring because Asobo announced they are working on a new game. Read it some months back. Most likely many who worked on MSFS will move across to the new game and the new recruits will fill their shoes on MSFS, which is mostly updating an existing product/bugfixing and therefore a more gentle introduction to the company. Maybe I was too naive 🙂 Eric The other sim devs should be worried as it seems Asobo/Microsoft are serious about this platform, if they nail things like the Autopilot, MSFS will become the industry leader in serious flight simming in the years ahead. Your just guessing here, unless your privy to some inside knowledge of course, maybe this is just the beginning of the MSFS franchise, and the best is yet to come. Let me try dispeling the "whining and complaining" remark though. It didn't occur to me I was ever whining or complaining, on the contrary: explaining limits and set backs about the game while at the same time offering possible solutions to overcome these limits is not complaining to me, it is constructive criticism. I could understand a certain defiance and people having doubts if I'd sound like evangelizing about only what is good, how good I'm making nice gauges and 8 months ago no one knew me anywhere near any simulator nor any add-on development, but I've been exclusively working in this industry for 20 years over 14 different simulator versions, with renowned and award winning flight simulation products. I guess this should alleviate any doubts about the seriousness of my remarks and this should give me some undisputed authority on these matters. Now, for the "you can only know so far!", I can tell you one of the Asobo founder back then was not only finding my suggestions good, but worth implementing in the SDK. This was before someone had an epiphany about Garmin maybe... Edited June 14, 20214 yr by RXP

June 14, 20214 yr @Rocky Eric, it seems your French sense of humour didn't work as expected 😂 To people not understanding him: he was trying to be ironic to the naysayers... Reminds me given the remark made to me above: please understand we're not all native English speaking, we all have different cultural traits (seems no one catch Rocky was ironic there), and what you might find "complaining or whining" could just be "sound and informed constructive criticism"...
