TDS 750

OK took me a bit of wild searching, didn't jump out at me but this looks good.

I do not want to pay subscriptions, tired of this mechanism that drains my limited resources.

So does the subscription include ongoing updates to Airac cycles?

You need a subscription to Navigraph if you want current NAV data.

I have that already.  Wanted to know if this product for an annual fee would replace that......  If not, what is the annual cost for?

Can someone please bring me up to speed here.  New to MSFS and I see a couple GTN products which at this time appear marginally OK.

So is this one a freebee but not that functional, and then you need to buy a subscription to get full access?

Go to the website - the difference between Basic [FREE] and Premium [Purchase] is tabulated there. Hope it helps.

Hm. Why doesn't it just use whatever nav data is present in the sim (stock or Navigraph) like the WT mods do?

Been using this for more than two months and have to say it's very good. I even acquired the one-year license activation key to have the full features of the premium version.

If you don't have Navigraph it uses the stock Navdata. The Navigraph integration , added feature,  works well for me, because I have a subscription.

No thanks to these subscription based products. Ridiculous to have to subscribe to an addon only to have to subscribe to another service (navigraph) in order to get a complete working package. $75 one time purchase price is too high for me.

This is preventing me from a purchase.

From the documentation on website :

"Databases  :  The TDSGTNXi navigation database comes preloaded with cycle 2004. While the database can be upgraded, the process is expensive. More information on updating databases will be available in the future."

Also, purchase price - US$ converted to my currency - little steep.

Same feeling here.

My beta release licence still valid till 12th July. Will see what WT G1000 NXi comes up with and then decide to pull the trigger or not.

The ~$50 purchase for both a GTN650 and a GTN750 is less than the Flight1 units for FSX and P3D, but, the 2004 NAV data is a real bummer. Otherwise the TDS GTNXi are good looking units.

Agree and to right to my point: What then are we to be paying for on an ongoing basis?

Ray, what you are not mentioning, is that the TDS unit does not (yet) integrate into MSFS...

That, IMHO, is a bigger issue than the date of the navdata..

That is debatable... both units have their pro and cons, but arguably, they are both beta implementations with much missing..
