Whilst they should - as an "uncurated store" they are likely to pass the responsibility back to the original vendor. We shall see.

If you're referring to that recent release which is copping so much flak on their forum, I suspect they're going to have to. Their marketplace credibility will stand or fall on the integrity of what is offered, and so it's just not good business sense to let a bad situation ride.

If it was a case of people just not liking something, or maybe not having read some instructions, but it still basically being a working product, then maybe they'd be able to front it out, but it appears the thing hasn't even got basic functionality, with some people apparently reporting they're not even being able to get thing off the deck. If that is true, then if it isn't immediately patched, or perhaps has the excuse of the download file being the wrong one placed on the servers or some such, which could be swiftly corrected, then that's a clear case of a product not doing what it says on the tin, but more importantly, it potentially creates the impression that quality is not important and things are not checked, which is not what you want for your image.

I know lots of stores don't actually check uploads and for some that's understandable when they have loads of products added on a daily basis, but I would think with aeroplanes on a built in marketplace for the sim, it would not be a bad idea to at least see if the thing can load up and fly a basic circuit. It's not as if this would be a vastly time-consuming thing to do.

Even if they do not check any new offerings, surely, they have to react when they are told that something is introduced that fails to meet expectations...

Jorg stated several QAs ago that they have no intention to police the quality of Marketplace content.

MSFS forum mods asked about refunds several months back referred to language on an XBox Marketplace page that says, "no refunds".

Don't count on any refund, no matter how bad the product.

Well, sort of, but sometimes we take a punt on things. I know I often take one for the team for review purposes, but at the very least when I do this, whilst I might be buying something which is a bit ropey and I understand that's a risk i take, however, I at least expect it to be able to fly.

Rule #1 for me. Avoid the Market Place. 

I bought it last night before the issues were known, Having WT mentioned in the description was bad imo, and sadly i fell for it, there is no way WT had any input into this. I quickly found the avionics don't work, the sounds are copied from the Asobo King Air, and the cockpit modelling is one of the worst yet.

As for BT, Never heard of them, only back into flight simming since MSFS launched last August. I requested a refund immediatly as the aircraft is not fit for purpose, and recieved said refund within minutes.... This should never have got to the Market Place, but fair play to MS for a quick refund.

I have also deleted it in fairness, It does still show as purchased but i guess they will disable it at some point.

Does the items you buy from the marketplace have any protection? Example: Lets say they did offer refunds. Couldn't you just copy and paste the folder it installs from "Community" to your desktop. Get a refund and then paste the plane back in and you still actually have the plane. Because if you can do that, then that does mean a lot of people could abuse the refund system. They would have to look at adding something in to prevent abuse.

One would assume so the content is encrypted and tracked by the content manager.

Same here. Though I tend not to announce it as (like saying you see a difference with addon mesh and vegetation) it seems to get people irrationally angry when you say that.
