Aerosoft CRJ 500/700: Buy or Not?

Featured Replies

Hey guys just wondering if the CRJ has most of the issues worked out or not by now? I don't need a study level a/c per say but I would like something that pretty closely resembles the real thing, flies well, and is easy on the frames. And most importantly, actually works. It looks pretty good and isn't too expensive, but just wanted to ask if this is recommended by the majority of RL'ers or not?

Thanks guys.

There are a lot of shortcomings, but I enjoyed it. I fly all approaches by hand, so I don't have many issues like other folks do. Lack of terrain/WX radar implimentation  is quite disappointing by manageable

It is ok, as sd_flyer said, lack of terrain map and weather radar is a huge let down (specially when this comes with the default aircraft), the EFB also does not include the integration with Navigraph, which is another let down when using VR.

I haven't loaded the CRJ in a while, but iirc the flight director will not "work" when established on an ILS approach (both for lateral and vertical guidance). Aerosoft has been silent in regards to timeframe to get this fixed. Overall I would say go get it, at this time it is the most complex airliner you can get (IMO the CJ4 mod is definitely worth a try also)

Aircraft is un-airworthy,you are not supposed to dispatch into known or forecast thunderstorms with no weather radar.

not yet in my opinion.

There are still numerous things that still don't work right for me..   ILS approaches,  inability to change the nav database fully to get older airports, general flight characteristics, terrasin and weather etc etc.

For me, there are much better planes around on the market and I don't fly this anything like as much as I should do based on the cost, in fact, if it had been possible, I would have done a refund on it. 🙂

Thanks guys. I took a pass on it and downloaded the CJ4 instead. This thing looks pretty insane.

this crj is a good model, great frames and it's about 85%-90% there with active debug by developer.  a solid buy in my book.

I enjoy it, haven’t really had any LNAV issues or anything like that.  A worthy addition to my hangar and an aircraft you can fly into all kinds of regional airports in real life.

I bought one of their products back in P3d, and was disappointed in how I was treated as a customer when I had questions/suggestions after purchase.  Not with the answers, just the attitude behind them.  Haven't looked back since.

I seem to have bought a different aircraft.  I enjoy MSFS with the Aerosoft CRJ-700.  I think it looks and flies great  and it is easy to learn the systems.

Crj is by far the best plane out there to date. Must buy
