August 7, 20214 yr Hi, I've already bought the Enhance AI yesterday. I understand now why the amount of Vessels is limited at this moment. The amount of details in those ships is amazing. The nightlighting is also incredible. Today I bought the global shipping addon and I'm simply blown away. It's the first time that the sea around my favourite harbour is crowded with ships. Like it should. Now you really feel the life on the sea while flying. Thank you seafront for this amazing addon. I'm looking forward to the next updates. Here are some screenshots I took around Antwerp, Rotterdam and SF. For some I took day and night for comparisson Grt Edited August 7, 20214 yr by Festijn Direct link to pictures

I also have both sliders at 100. If you only have Enhanced AI you could leave the slider for the big ships at 6% and the slider for the small ships at 100%. Although I would recommend to go also for 100% for both. Even then, for some reason, the default traffic from MSFS for the big ships stays quite low. The global shipping addon from Seafront made the difference for me. Finally the sea came alive.

Before HF2, I didn't ever seen spawn the cruise liner...and basically no tankers, and cargo. Weird that Hendrik's ships didn't seem to be affected by that. Could it be because he has no wake files with his ships? Since HF2, I can see some R.O.I. on my two purchases. The only problem...and it's quite funny to see...is that on the Great Lakes, rivers, or small lakes above sea level...you will see two wake effect strips streaming across the water..but no boat/ship on the surface in front of them. Perhaps all that is there, but below the water surface but unseen. Weird that the wake effect is on the surface, no matter... Edited August 8, 20214 yr by Sesquashtoo
August 8, 20214 yr I got this Seafront stuff also. It does what it has to do and work fine at my end. But there is one thing that is sometime a real showstopper, that are the shipswaves. They look ok (not great) from above when flying over 10000 feet, but near the ground in a acute angle-it looks ugly, like a rattlesnake rolling . I like to, cut off, things that not look real good, so it woud be great, when we can decide with or without waves. For the rest of this stuff-well done-go ahead 😉 Stephan from Germany My System

August 9, 20214 yr Commercial Member Hi All, It's great to hear many of you are now seeing big improvements after SU5 HF2. We did indeed get hit hard by SU5 - (another lesson learnt for us)! The good news is now that's fixed we can concentrate on other improvements (including things like wakes)... We have added 7 new models + 2 variants for the next update together with improvements and fixes to several routes in order to create some more movement. Many shorter routes have also been added. Some LODs have been improved too. We aim to get this to you all within the week but need to go through the proper process for release. In the meantime here are some shots of just some of the routes in different areas across the globe. Note that due to the real-world data, the traffic may sometimes be quite a way out at sea (as it would be) and you won’t always see traffic alongside the coast when you might expect it. We will be looking at improving the overall experience with future updates including adding more traffic to the quieter routes (and maybe tweaking those that are getting a little too much). We will let you know when the new update is available but are hoping for tomorrow. Oh and we highly recommend the amazing LittleNavMap (free) https://www.littlenavmap.org/ if you want to go ship spotting. Hope you're all keeping safe and well. Seafront Simulations
August 9, 20214 yr It's great to see more ships and all. But if let's say we fly at FL180 and above where most commercial airliners fly, will we be able to see the ships that are way out in the middle of the ocean? I really hope you implement LOD levels for the higher altitudes flyers to see these ships. Or else it won't be pointless to have thousands of routes, and not be able to see any of the ships. I really love the details of the models and how they have lighting and wake effects, but I do agree on improving the look of the wakes. Hopefully it's something that Asobo can work on their end to make these particle effects even better. To be fair to MS/Asobo the wakes are just something we need to spend more time with and need more documentation/tutorials/samples for. I have no doubt the technology is there, it's just that all of the developers are having to learn a brand new system for creating effects and the only tutorials out there are for smoke. I'm confident we'll get there though!

Hi @captain420 All of our LODs are set up to be visible from the very first opportunity and many are visible from FL300+. However, it obviously depends on the size of the ship itself. Some of the smaller and medium supply vessels or fishing trawlers are not visible from that height although there's a chance you could see their wakes. The sim still isn't perfect in that regard, as there are still some LODs (thankfully not lots) that aren't showing when they should be. Edited August 9, 20214 yr by Seafront Simulations
