The limited sales text made it sound like you were getting a lot more than 19 ships - I will be requesting a refund for sure. my fault for jumping the gun again - I should have waited for reviews. Me too. I am now hoping that there is a complete rewrite and new mission statement from the dev's that will be seen in any updates if coming. That's why I am not seeking a refund, but will wait to see how the Dev's respond to all this. Their first commercial MSFS product was a gem...and on that basis, I bought without waiting for reviews. I'll never do that again. No DOUBT they are reading these forums...and I hope that their response will be legion. In a total reworking and content of these two products. That is (in my opinion) the only thing that will 'correct' the course (pun intended) of this ship....and their company's future growth, or rapid demise. Edited August 1, 20214 yr by Sesquashtoo

Hi hanhamreds - I believe this is something do with antialiasing in the sim or just with the latest update. Hopefully things will improve on the sim side and we will also be looking to improve the effects ourselves of course.

On 7/31/2021 at 11:47 AM, Ixoye said: I would like to know that as well. There are some rivers with routes through them yes, but the vast majority of course are in the sea. There is a known issue with some of the lakes due to the sea level problem in MSFS (Henrik, we and others have reported this a while back). And yes of course we add ship traffic to the seas, lots of it. Here are two shots of just 50% of the routes around the Gulf of Alaska and Bahamas to illustrate.

However, we do need to clarify some points for the benefit of this forum. We have always endorsed your freeware and are fans (see our Twitter posting from back in March) Twitter ...and have promoted people enjoying both products ever since: Your team's great efforts for the variety of models and hand crafted routes (it really is a labour of love) and our volume of traffic. Although you don't like the reuse of models, that's a personal choice and there is a level (probably lower than 1300) that people can be happy with - Some are fans of model variety, others fans of having many more routes. We have a vast majority of really positive feedback from these products but we are obviously committed to and excited about improving them as well. It's great to hear you've committed to adding wakes and lighting too, it makes it better for all of us (we are simmers too of course). Likewise we (also part time with this) don't think it's fair for people put pressure on you and your modellers to create wakes. We apologise if our product has created urgency in that regard. We have never once stated that we are providing tens of thousands of "types" of models. We have always said, multiple times on multiple forums and sites that the focus is on adding tens of thousands of boats to the seas together with the routes that carry them. We intentionally didn't pursue adding lots and lots of boats of different roles and types because we felt it would conflict with your achievements too much, so we have kept to freight as a focus for the product. This will continue to be the case. We will of course be adding more models (our vessels core library has over 100) and we are adding more of the cargo/freight and utility types but again as we've said here and elsewhere we will never get to 1300. With high poly models, multiple LODs and HD textures it will be far too large. Our respective addons are very different (again intentionally) and have different priorities, repeating models on one hand, or routes on the other to achieve them. That's OK. To illustrate here's 50% of the routes in the Gulf of Alaska and Bahamas respectively. We understand that you may feel we have 'stepped on your toes' with these addons, but that has never been our intention. We are just two people that love scene setting in the sim in our spare time and started doing it as a hobby too. As a token of our appreciation for your contribution to the community and knowing you may be reluctantly purchasing otherwise we'll PM you a key for each product to redeem. August 1, 20214 yr This thread started out with a high tide rushing in and gradually it ebbed to low tide.
August 1, 20214 yr Chris & Esther, This is not about stepping over toes but over-promoting and not communicating right - and I was drawn into this because I have a package out there with more than 40.000 users in MSFS. The below was your sales text on OrbX; it literally promises tens of thousands of high quality ships and you supply in that particular package 5 and use the 14 upgraded default ships that people needs to buy on top in the Enhanced AI... I would love to see more shipping in MSFS, but one need to be honest about what one sell. I work professionally with marketing for three decades and the below is just a crazy exaggeration. You would have been better off just selling your Enhanced AI, because that one provides fast value and is easy to explain; the Global Shipping just offers endless repetition. I'm not going to seek a refund, but have pretty much just written off my $40.00 CDN for both programs. For a personal opinion, quite under-whelmed. I bought on the power of the first offering, which was/is still fabulous. This?... Well, I won't buy another piece of software on release day. Never again. I got sold on the power of the first product, and the videos. I realize now beyond a doubt, that videos, and product manifests and descriptions, are merely a trip-to-Vegas, from the future on. Once more, thank you for your package, and I wonder, can YOU now create wakes in any sort of update:? If you could...your MSFS V(2)? would be the end all, for injection of life upon the seas, and finally, I hope you and others can figure out how to populate water bodies within MSFS that are not bound to 'sea level'. The Great Lakes MISS YOU! Hi Sesquashtoo, We're really sorry that you're not getting the desired effect from your purchase. The trailer videos are of the product as it was sold. They're just videos of some flights we did over various areas (San Fran, Gibraltar, Nice (France), Istanbul to name a few) and haven't been changed them in any way. We recognise there are a couple of issues: Too many boats in some places and not enough in others, some issues that have been completely misattributed to us as with other developers but are a result of SU5, and some that we know to be ours that we are rectifying. Our vision for what we want to achieve with Global Shipping is still there. We have heard the feedback from a few people about wanting more boats sooner (we've always said that we will add more in over time with all of our products). If you speak to Orbx they should still be able to process the refund as far as we believe. Hopefully we'll welcome you back at some point in the future.

Henrik Hi Henrik, Thanks for the response. It does literally deliver ten's of thousands of high quality, PBR, night-lit utility, fishing and cargo ships to the seas. Yes there are repeated models, but it still does exactly that. We purposely didn't state "ten's of thousands of types or varieties" so as not to mislead. (We actually contacted FSElite to correct an article when they said it was 'types'). The routes are not repeated (yet...we may add a few more boats on each of the longer routes). If anything we have learnt to provide more detail at launch and as we say, the majority of customers are very happy with what we've achieved. We still don't see competition between the addons, but we do need to rectify any potential misrepresentation of our products by others. For example to clarify on the 'upgraded default ships': They are not MSFS models that have been retouched etc, they are models we provide. We agree it's unfair you have been asked about our products too, that shouldn't have happened. Kind Regards, Chris & Esther Edited August 1, 20214 yr by Seafront Simulations

Thank you @omarsmak Spoiler Try San Fran or off the coast of San Diego as a couple of examples for our cruise ships. August 1, 20214 yr I've yet to see any wake effects. Wasn't this advertised too? Any location/time where it can be seen? - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
