How do you use MSFS?  Did you buy it to fly low and slow over the realistic scenery, or to fly longer IFR flights?  VFR or IFR?

Needs an option for "both"....

(I do more VFR than IFR however...)

Agreed. I fly both ifr and vfr

Both. Didn't vote though.

VFR only.

I9-14900K,  Gigabyte B760 Aorus Elite AX, RTX 4080, 32 ram.1 tb nvme  M.2 SSD, MSFS 2020 on 2 tb nvme m.2 SSD

Sounds silly, but for years I've used my flight simulator to follow my favourite sports teams around to the various sports venues they appear at. 99% IFR.

For some folk's it's a little too early for the IFR question. But it will change in the next 6 months to a year. Yeah, you know what aircraft I am talking about. There really should be a both option! Just saying. For me at this time and probably will be always, lean towards VFR in MSFS 🙂 Ask again in August 2022, might have different results, but maybe not, since the scenery is amazing! I mean you have to take off and land even in a big plane 🙂

PMDG 😭 I want

MSFS 2024

Both.

AMD Ryzen 7 5800x3d, MSI X570 Pro, 32 gb DDR4 3600 ram, Gigabyte 6800 16gb GPU, 1x 2tb Samsung  NvMe , 1x 2tb Sabrent NvME, 1x Crucial 4tb Nvme M2 Drive

VFR for the overwhelming majority of the time.

VFR and just chilling out with nice folk online, touring around the world looking for amazing places.

Both. Technically I'm most often simulating Air Hauler cargo flights, which would be IFR of course, but since most of these flight are over West Africa or across the water to Madagascar or adjacent islands, sometimes to uncontrolled fields and often where there are not a ton of nav aids, they're usually a straight shot at medium altitudes with not much in the way of SIDs or STARs, which makes them as near as makes no difference VFR in all but name.

Basing my cargo airline for MSFS in Madagascar was all about learning something about Africa in terms of geography and history etc, which is one of the fun things you can do with flight sims instead of just flying around your own country all the time. I'd encourage people to do something similar; it's a big world out there and most of it in MSFS looks pretty much like the real place even by default, which is a major plus point of MSFS.

Taking that PMDG DC-6 into and out of short rough strips in Africa is good fun.
