Late August. They're aiming to release it around the same time as Gamescom which is August 25th-29th.

For those of you who are wondering what Switzerland is going to look like after World Update 6, go to Bing Maps and check it for yourself. The have updated their imagery and DEM and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Crisp image, not a single cloud, all images taken in the same season and very accurate DEM so that every mountain is recognisable.

As Neuman confirmed in the last Q&A, the data is from Swisstopo (Federal Office of Topography). The screenshots below show that the new Bing imagery is indeed from Swisstopo.

This is what we can expect in August!

Now I only hope that the morphing won’t be too awful so that we can really appreciate this beautiful scenery.

i9-11900K, RTX 4090, 32 GB ram, Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, TCA Airbus sidestick and quadrant, Reverb G2

I love VFR around the Swiss Alps, flying through and up the valleys can be an utter delight (well it was before SU5...) in VR.

Having visited the country four times as a child it holds a special place for me, looking forward to the update.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Looking forward to this one. I'm hoping my local airport of Sion gets some attention as well as local landmarks and dams.

I will have to check this out after the next update. I used to fly this area a lot with the old FSX and custom aerial imagery. I haven't done too much flying in MSFS (some), but now will hold off just a bit longer.

Wow, I just googled Sion, that's quiet the site to behold. You live in quite a scenic place my friend.

I hope they come up with a good mesh for this wonderful country.

They should use this area as a sort of reference for tweaking graphics things to make the overall game look as real as it gets.
The architecture in itself is a MARVEL, but the scenery - man.

It's a nice place especially if you like hiking and wine (lots of vineyards). I live about a 15 minute walk to Sion airport and most evenings walk up the hill next to the airport where there are some great views of the runway. The only problem is the constant noise most mornings of the endless private jets and helicopters taking off and waking me up 😂

Love flying through Switzerland and Austria using the DEM from flightsim.to along with a few freeware airports.  Really looking forward to WU6 provided that it does not break anything.  Sion is a lovely area to explore flying through The Valleys along with the beautiful Austrian Tyrol.

Thanks Shack, I hope the colors will be all right too. The Alps suffer  from a cartoonish green in many places. Its going to be a ball to fly in Switzerland.

You forgot the fighter jets from Payerne practicing above our heads every day!... Otherwise it is indeed wonderful and quiet...

Another Valaisan from up there.
