World Update Six

Featured Replies

The quality difference between before and after the Bing Maps update is quite remarkable. The upper half of the first sceenshot is what is currently shown in the sim, the lower part is the new imagery by Swisstopo.

I hope the new aerials for Austria and Germany will be as good as those for Switzerland.

The upper picture looks much better.

I really hope they will have a World Update for Asia, especially the Southeastern region.

They should use this area as a sort of reference for tweaking graphics things to make the overall game look as real as it gets.
The architecture in itself is a MARVEL, but the scenery - man.

In this video I flew all across the Swiss Alps on SU0/WU0 :). At 16:20 the dive down to Sion begins:

While I am also looking forward to WU6, let me present you my favourite insider tip: Ambri, the final airport in the Video. There is probably no other airport worldwide, which lays that deep into a narrow valley, surrounded by overwhelming mountains in nearly any direction. See the circuit patterns here, there is not one straight departure or approach possible from or to any direction...

Aren't bug fixes only w/ Sim Updates?

Central and South America too.

I'll take Salt Lake City!  Flew there the other day and it looked like virgin P3D almost!  Well, not quite, but not pretty either!  There are parts of the USA that are pretty undercooked.  I don't think I saw one palm tree in...Palm Springs!

What a difference for my area of Zürich.  My high rise building doesn't even exist in the sim right now. It is there now together with the twin tower. The area in the new updated bing maps is way better.  Looks like the imagery was done in the Fall or maybe late winter early spring, because the trees look rather bare. Evergreens are there obviously but the deciduous trees have no leaves. Wonder if AI trees mix with photogrammetry trees.

They said the ctd bug(s) would be solved with WU6.

So hopefully not!

Palm springs has turned into one giant ugly wind farm unfortunately IRL

At first glance I thought everything was taken in the same season but you’re right, it seems that some images were taken in spring or summer and some in early or late winter (eg east and west of the country).
