The sim, for me is fine after SU5.  No issues whatsoever.  You'll find that many millions of sim pilots will be having a positive experience with only the negative posts appearing here.

It's been fine for me, as well.  In fact, when I hear all the complaining I sometimes literally wonder if they are talking about the same software my computer is running, or of MS has little magic Elves that are bringing me secret, working builds in the middle of the night.  You also make an excellent point insofar that it's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease.

For every person you see on this and other forums whining about this or that, I figure there are 20, 50, heck maybe even 100 others who are just happily sitting at home flying their "toy planes".  Happy end-users with no reason to complain don't generally roam the halls of forums complaining.  It's just simple logic.

The best part of the week was Asobo's gentle reminder to Aerosoft about who owns the sim.

What did I miss?

When an update is this horrific, i wonder if release was rushed by management. Certainly hope it was not done to simply meet the published deadline.

The published the release date of the update 6 months before release! It's clear that the date was the important part and the state of the software secondary.

This is how my night is going got new honeycomb yoke sim starts and crashes half way thru loading - disconnect all of sim hardware doesnt matter same thing one of the most beautiful and po of you know what software I ever saw - not happy doing a 124gig reinstall now oh boy fun stuff

This is why I got out of simming to avoid the insanity and Im not hopeful a new install will work as it was vanilla before I plugged in Honeycomb

After that this thing is done.

Because you’ll use X-Plane instead? Or maybe P3D? Relax and take a breath. It will be OK. 👍

There's nine years to go as long as the ink on the ledger is black. If it ever turns red that ten year pledge won't mean a thing.

It will to the investors who were told it was a ten year plan to make money off it and invested based on that report to them, and I don't mean the flight sim either. Pulling the plug isn't just a case of looking at the bottom line for MSFS. You don't seriously think that all of the effort going into this toy plane sim is purely for that and nothing else do you? Is anyone really that naive to believe that?

Sure they want a nice flight sim to make some money off, but the real-time entire world streaming technology is linked to other things MS does, not merely the flight sim. All that VR stuff and a replicated streaming world has all kinds of other pies which MS has fingers in, not least of which is their current contract to make VR goggles for use on the battlefield by the US military which stream that same world to them but also populate it with recon info by being linked to data from AWACs planes and drones and FACs etc, so that soldier who wears those VR goggles can ''see' where those enemy soldiers are behind that wall even though there is no line of sight from their position, and stuff like that. We are benefitting from it too, but if anyone seriously thinks that some of the cash for it is not coming from the US military's budget, then they are wrong about that.

MS looked very carefully at what Lockheed Martin did with ESP and they clearly thought, yeah, we'll have some of that with our new sim engine.

Umm..So the US military uses Xbox's?

The LOD pops are an immersion killer, though. That was one thing that was wonderful about this before SU5. We have pop in's in every other sim, and to not have that before, was truly amazing. I really hope they can figure this out.

Not seeing that at all. Really wish I knew what the secret is why some people have bad issues and others don’t.

My gut says it’s something that was previously set or added.

The US military has contracted Microsoft to create its new VR goggle system, and that will be using the same streaming system as MSFS does to display the terrain of the battlefield via those goggles.

But since you asked, yes, in fact the US military does use XBoxes, the periscope on several US attack submarines is operated by an XBox 360 controller, some drones the US military operate use a joypad controller similar to the XBox, as do most drones in fact, and the US Air Force also uses the XBox 360 controller to operate one of its airborne targeting systems. This actually makes a lot of sense, because many young people going into the army are very familiar with that kind of controller.

Attention seeking drama queens. I swear, misery loves company smh

With the amount you post in threads which you admit have nothing to do with you, you would really confuse me as to who is the attention seeking drama queen.

Do you know what a normal person does when they see a thread that isn't relevant to them? They skip it, instead of heading in and giving it the very attention that you claim is undue.

Is it spam? Report it and move on. Posts like yours serve one purpose, to enrage and encourage additional posting on the topic. To me though it seems obvious that this is your only goal.

Not if they install SU5 it won't. 😀
