If you are going to split hairs just for the sake of arguing then sure, the game would start so technically you could play it. However, you couldn't even do a turn around flight when MSFS was released. You had to go back to the main menu just to load another flightplan that ATC would recognize then combined with the clear skies bug we all ended up having to completely close the sim just to get live weather back but I digress

Well, I haven't heard anything yet, so maybe nothing special will happen today for MSFS?

This is a special day, as I thought last year, that I'll give MSFS one year before I uninstall the other sims and jump in.. but looks like its not ready for primetime yet (esp after SU5 mess).. not a problem.. I understand the growing pains every sim has to go thru.. I will patiently wait until GSX, AIG, PMDG & other big addons are brought in next yr to make it a full fledged sim.. 

In the meantime, I'm having a ball of a time with the old, but stable P3D V5 and XP11.. solid as a rock.. perform great.. all the best addons and aircraft at your disposal.. I'm actually buying some more addons for P3D.. I know, hard to believe.. but, I like the stability they offer and the variety of addons.. and there are no forced upgrades, and everything rests on my SSD for life.. so that's comforting.. 

I will re-assess after 6 months and see if I'm ready to take the plunge, but just wanted to say, quite contrary to popular opinion on MSFS forums - It is okay to enjoy the other sims while you wait.. it doesn't have to be either/or.. plenty of space in my SSD for all 3 sims to coexist into the future.. 🙂

Who, and when, has ever said that it's not OK? Looks like a straw man argument to me.

Not sure how that is splitting hairs when your case being made is the game was unplayable.. It kills credibility when you say that, and what you really meant, was that you had to back to the main menu to start your next flight.

No, What I meant was exactly what I said which was the game not being played by me to being played all the time and I gave reasons specifying why that was the case and that was just off the top of my head. There were other issues as well which made it unplayable for someone like me who likes to fly high and fast. The game was an overpriced beta in September 2020 and theres no reason to sugarcoat it. Its so much better today and my original comment was really to commend the work that has been accomplished so there's no credibility being killed here.
